Given the price that the Pinkar Love Bug achieves on the rare occasions it sees the light of day on eBay, you're right on that call Miveson. However, it is a Disney licence and they are notoriously expensive. But.... There's an awful lot of love in the world for Herbie and any other variety of the people's Porsche. Seems almost everybody has one in their history somewhere along the line.

Double up on the RS200 too with MSC's one due shortly.

Gotta love the RS200......................here I was thinking that MSC was the only way I'd be getting hold of a new blue oval classic.

Scalextric must have a good crystal ball in there headquarters...............................It's uncanny how they can produce a car when a new manufactor releases the same model.

Its a pity that Scalex feel the need to try and push out a new brand... maybe jules should put a few cars he has no intention of making on his website

I dont think the toy car industry is for the faint hearted. I have it on good advice that Jules will be releasing the Edsel. An iconic car in its own right. Now as for a running mate to the Edsel Im not sure? Any suggestions?

cheers

The Model" T" or "The Homer" are two that come to mind .

Maybe a few decoy models would be in order for the newer brands on the market, just to throw Scalextric a red herring. A few hideous models like the " Leyland P76" should do the trick...................I do feel for MSC, but Im still buying them even with Scalextric's version coming. IMO the newer brands just need to list a couple of cars with "Alcohol & Cigarette" liveries. Scalextric's biggest downfall is their stance on Alcohol and Cigarette advertising. A large proportion of the classic race cars had either.

Emb's: You beat me to it, what are the odds the P76 could come up in two replies at the same time

Clevo, you have to admit it was a classic. An ugly lump of tin and possibly just a little before it's time.

if they use decoy cars everybody wants, thats the way to get them scaley to finally build them.older falcons, mkii cordies,xu 1 toranas, monaros etc.scaley gone down a dangerous road with this reacting to other brands.

It's easy to criticise Scalextric but to be fair this is a particularly difficult market place at the moment. Sales must be down particularly in the new sector and costs are beginning to rise significantly. They seems however to be a bit preoccupied in being all things at all men in their strategy.

They can't be seeking too much input from club racers, collectors and enthusiasts or the new range would not be what it is. The motor bikes must have been a financial disaster and they won't want a repeat of that.

As far as the club car is concerned it took them a decade to realise that a good club car meant a big increase in membership but they have now lost their way again on that one. My son and I are both "members" but if the car is good, Aston Martin" then we both join up, if it's poor, Audi R8 then we only renew one membership. We certainly don't join for the discounts, exclusive offers and editorial content of the magazine.

2011 will probably be the year I buy less Scalextric than ever...

And what ever happened to the white kit range. Let's be honest that would be a total no brainer. Same retail prices yet cheaper to produce. When I spoke to them they said it was up for consideration. No it wasn't...

From MRE website - "Pixar Toy Story cars (yes, in 1/32 scale !)"

Woohoo - Lightening McQueen, Doc Hudson, Mater and all the gang - in 1/32 can't wait - I don't know how many times I have looked at Toy Story stuff at the toy shop with an eye to converting them to slot cars....

cheers

I wouldnt mind putting a quid on the next L34 to be of "Brabham & Moss". That would certainly help with sales outside of Australia for the Torana.

THe GT40 livery is the one which has me thinking.I wonder what Scaley is going to do here!! Two liveries come to mind. Alan Mann Racing (REd & Gold) & #57 from 67 Lemans. Since Slot.it are doing the Alan Mann racing livery, I wonder if Scaley will try to compete in sales with slot.it and also produce the same car! I guess time will tell.

A single car D Type Jag - huzzah!

I am with you on the Alan Mann GT40 Clevo - with any luck they will do the Paul Hawkins AM GT-2 car that would be sweet... the #57 could be a possibility - to do both cars right needs some changes to the body shape but more so with the #57 car..

What about something from left field - the #1 Roadster winner at Sebring  the #1 from Daytona '67 yellow or perhaps the #96, 97 or 98 car from Daytona '66.

Also some missing numbers in the sequence - does this suggest some un-announced cars?

I'm with you DM on those choices.

The Torana will likely be the Blues Union. No-brainer for a UK company.

The D type will be interesting. Given the Lotus 49 paint scemes, I'd guess Ecurie Ecosse version, although cockpits might have to change.

GT40? My money goes with Slot.it unless Scaley makes something unusual/desirable. How many non-descript GT40s can you justify?

No Mustang for the first time in years?

And what about Carrera? Exclusive rights to old Ferraris and almost nothing in two years?

Youre right it is easy to complain  Remember that most of Europe and the UK are in recession. Thats got to slow things up.
