I've been thinking that its never too early to start planning for next years DUPR,has anybody thought about this,or is it just me?

Got to think that we must be soon getting to the time to discuss classes regs etc......

Did I hear someone say CanAm.or was that Group C?

Lets go back to Sedans. Lots of good cars there and it's about time to switch from sports cars.
May the Downforce be with you

???
Yes but how many in a class. lots of different class's represented.
IMO it would be good to try and run the GT cars every second year, that way people could get some more use out of cars that are specially built for the proxy races, provided the rules don't get changed too much.
This would then allow some other class's on the alternate years.
The main thing is to compile some lists of RTR cars that would fit the class. The Sports sedans class was reasonable BUT IMO it may have had even more entrants IF there had been more RTR cars available.
I think this years event is so popular partially because of the great number of good RTR cars that fot the class.

I think Sedans (or Saloons, in Brit's language) could be an interesting choice but there will need to be a careful definition of classes as otherwise I can see the grid being dominated by Aussie & American V8's due to their size advantage. Maybe we could have 2 different classes segregated by size (Large and Small) based on length of car and wheelbase with the Large class being allowed to have Pods and the Small class to be Non-Podded. Just something to think about.

I definately think its not too early to discuss matters as long as we don't get too carried away with picking a class as yet and just discuss options. I like Phils idea of having a class that gets repeated on an alternate year as it lets people re tune what may have been an average car into a better one and therefore helps the entrant learn which is most peoples primary motivation. For me I would like to see LMP class as there are lots and lots of good rtr ones from different manufacturers so a diverse grid is assured. Avant slot, Scaleauto, Slot it, Spirit, Ninco, SCX, all do good LMP's plus maybe a couple of others i haven't thought of. There is just something about that flying wedge shape i think is terrific.
I used to Drink too much. I still do but i used to to.

v8 supercars Dave??? are you on drugs? can i have some??

I'll second Brett's 'trans am'/'muscle cars' come 'improved production'. make it say pre '73, something like that. that'll give us the scaley stuff, the pioneer stuff, a revell or two, the rms stuff, phil's chargers, falcons, superfalcons etc, so we get a goot range of rtr stuff, as well as some really trick resin stuff.

Is that a good seed planted???

B) i liked Bretts idea of a 1 make, control tyres class and i figured the V8 s would be 1 of the easiest and with the mods we can do make them a whole lot better to race...

I would second LMP. I absolutely hate V8 supercars, so thats a no go from me, it would also mean that we would be unlikely to get the international representation that we are enjoying today. A suggestion would be classic/vintage NASCAR, limited availabilty I realise, but what a hoot!

V8 supercars, control tyre and let the best TUNER win. Are ya game or do ya wanna hide B) Some of the best racing in our club is when we run V8s. Everyone starts with the same sheet of paper. Im mean its the DUPR10 so why not make it on a car class that gets run Down Under.
cheers

I didn't mean 1 make like that, i meant cars from 1 manufacturer, ie: SlotIt, Ninco, etc.

Bugger, where's a vomit emoticon when you need one??? LMP, yuck!!!

If we're going to run V8 superslugs, why not have a 1 make series with these?

With all the different Muscle cars out there, including the Aussie stuff, that has to be the class.
