Just a little one to advise that cars have arrived at Marsden Park.

Still 1 to come from slittlehales who is sending his car up as we speak.

So today I'll give the cars a bit of a clean up with a couple of wings detached and generally have a look at ride height and braids.

Pics will follow once I get organised.

Race day will be this coming Sunday, kick off at around 10 AM,should finish about 4

I've had a lovely morning, got the cars cleaned up and braids tidied then just gave the cars 5 laps or so on the track to make sure all was well,so I kept practice lap times just to see where we were with fastest cars etc etc....

Practice Session1.

1. Mannimal 4.34
2. Antony 4.391
3. Ronan 4.500
4.slittlehales 4.523
5. Oldslot 4.551
6.D.Bantoft 4.621
7. Newso 4.66
8. JAS 4.668
Hoffy 4.668
Imkouwl 4.668
Tazracer 4.668
12.Triggy 4.672
Stig 4.672
14. Chenglaw 4.719
15. Wizardgm 4.723
16. Gah5 4.730
17. D.Gray 4.77
Rick 4.77
19. Datto16 4.781
Sidecar Steve 4.781 (afternoon run 4.613)
21. Nimrod 4.828
22. Haystack 4.832
23. BMR 4.938
Lenny Broke 4.938
25. Mexico2000 4.943 (afternoon run 4.81)
26.Devious Dave 5.103
27. Homer 5.82 (afternoon run 5.23)

As I said these times were just a "settling in" thing, but I wanted to see who was capable of what, there are a few cars at the bottom end of the time sheet which I will have a look at,certainly Homers car, lacking in grip big time and Mexico2000's car bouncy in the corners.

All in all a great bunch of cars, some very fast
cars here.

Looking forward to race day

i notice the 'mid field'is seperated by virtually nothing, 7 - 13 all within 4/1000ths!!!

can't wait for race day.

Alan,so sorry,somehow I knew I'd miss someone!

I wouldn't be too worried about these first times as I went out to the shed about an hour ago and looked at some of the cars which I thought should have been quicker, and also at the ones which were really off the pace,so after a poke around I got yours to go about 3/10ths quicker.

I tried a few of the slower cars and they all showed an improvement on the 1st practice times, which is good, but on what I saw this afternoon, the field is condensed even more so.

Man,that Aston of Manimmal is so good,I only did about 5 laps in it,I didn't want to put it down!

No worries Terry
That's where it's been most of the series. so you can't disappoint me mate. I figure if it does better than that it's a bonus.
Good luck with the round. I won't be able to follow on line till Monday, when back from Darwin.
I'll catch up the teams points after Aastes posts official results for this round

I'm with lenny broke! Haystackmobile started series well, but has been steadily progressing down list. Did not expect to fall off bottom  Prehaps if you rummage around in packing you may find 2nd hand DHL Mosler with rough red wheels? :band:

I notice 23 listed times, but rnd 4 had 27 entrants.
Anyhow Cheers and good luck all.

Now I know why they invented computers,to prevent idiots like me missing stuff,I must have got all excited when transposing the details from outside!

Sincere apologies to all.

I've amended the times to include Haystacks times, like I said before don't look too much into these times as they were only done to make sure they were running okay,I'll be qualifying the cars on Friday and will be giving all the cars a good run, then we will get a better idea of who's what.

I had to laugh when you said you didn't want to put manimals car down , its a great car and had the same effect on me , just wanted to keep lapping it around , but conscience got the better of me and I decided not to wear his tyres away having fun with it . Got any photos to post yet Terry ?
Something I would like you to check please Terry , after my round when the car was put into the box , one of the front wheels was loose , ( I did say to Imkouwel to drive the wheels off it but didn't expect he would actually do it ;) ) it was glued on and didn't come off at Oswalds round but I didn't check it to see if the glue held well ? Can you have a nosey at it please , Cheers mate enjoy your round .

If we're still enforcing the 1.6mm clearance rule Ronan should be just about out of tyres after this round, or has that rule gone out the window? Next time I'll fit gumball tyres if you only need to clear 1.6mm at the beginning of the series and not at the end of the series. All a learning experience. :(

I checked Ronans car(as I did with all the others) and didn't have a problem with clearance, tight, but for me okay.

Next round could be a worry,I expect that a few cars may be under the 1.6mm.although my track is not ferradore,I do see evidence of tyre rubber around the track after a good session.so some cars may have a problem.

All the cars are here now.

slittlehales MacLaren arrived this afternoon from down Mexico way and has had a run on Marsden Park to just see how the car goes.

Its very quick!I had a bit of a time getting it around the track quick enough to do a clean lap,the worry might be for the boys to be able to lap consistently though.

Did a best lap of 4.523.

I'll update the times from my earlier post.
