For those who want to find references for GT40 liveries, (Danger Mouse?) here are some excellent galleries.

DM

I have a spare red MKII that could do with a re-livery
anyone no much about this one
http://www.nvsaac.com/photogallery/images/...Ford%20GT40.jpg
Is this the same one?

A little bit of searching suggests that the 2nd one if it is the Nelson Liddell car was a MK1 - the first one looks like a MK11 but any record I can find suggests the #16 was a MK1...
I am confused...more research needed...

The first car is Chassis No 1020 Ford France . The second cars is Chassis no 1003 Both are listed as 289 GT40's. The second pic may not be correctly identified as No 16 was listed as being Dark geen and the red white and blue car as not having any number allocated.

KK, Great site thanks for sharing it.

DM,
The red and gold cars are the Alan mann Racing GT40's. Alan had two specially built lightweight race cars. No normal chassis numbers for those two. They where named AM-GT1 & AM-GT2. I wouldn't mind putting a quid on Scalextric making this the next GT40 they release as no-one has done it and they are doing the Alan Mann twin pack later in the year with the Ford Lotus cortina and escort. A very loyal man to the Blue oval when it came to racing :( .

That would be sweet - I had my early money on the H&M #6 as driven by Andretti - the Blue with yellow nose - as they have done the #4 and the #5 cars...

but I think the AM car would be a great choice - bout time they did a MK1 again anyway

cheers

Those pic's are from the 1966 Lemans trails.(I think?) The AM GT-1 & 2 set very quick times at the trails, but Alan Mann didnt run them for the 1966 Lemans, instead be advised to run his other custom GT40's XGT-1 & XGT-2. They were the yellow & black #8 MKII and the black & silver #7 MKII (Scalextric's last model). So Im hoping there is a good chance the famous Red and gold cars could be produced. The late Paul Hawkins made the AM GT-2 a very famous racecar.
