I have been working on my historical F1 cars for some time now and have put Ninco NC1 motors in all of them starting with the Cartrix Mercedes Benz W-196
then Policar ferrari 156 and Scalextic Maserati 250F & the Vanwall. These cars are much easy to drive now through the corners. We will be starting a new class for these car call The Historical Grand Prix Legends.

The Ninco NC1 motor fits with no mods at all.

I will add more pics soon.

Hi Bo,

Looking forward to the race pics.
Have you tried the TX-1 Cartrix motor?
I've been told it is equal to the Ninco NC-1.
I can send you one for testing, PM me your details and I'll mail it to you.

Regards
NimROD

Here are some pics of the scalextric Maserati with a Ninco NC1 motor thats been modified to suit scalextric & fly cars, now it has much smooth power delivery and can be push harder through the corners.I have fitted Ninco Classic tyres to the rear, it has more grip now as well.Still needs more work but its getting there.

Great stuff Bo!
Can you help with info on how to change the NC1 to endbell drive for the Scaley F-1s?I've already ruined two trying so it's time to ask the experts.

Thanks,

Sorry to dig this old one up again Bo... but a Q.

What voltage were you running the NC-1s at?

I've just bought a Jag XK-120 and just wondering what I can run it at without killing the motor!!

Some nice pics of some nice cars!

Cheers,
Dick

I'll answer for him as I think he may have missed it. As we are currently running tighter tracks we run 12 volts but used to run 13.8 for NC1's previously. Ninco's are rated at 14.8 volts or there abouts so you won't kill them too easily. They are a very under stressed motor.

Any of the Cartrix cars with the S-can motors as standard are as good as an NC1 or NC8. The downfall is when they come with the Suntek motor which can be easily identified by a much shinier motor can metal used when compared to that of a standard can or Mabuchi type. The Suntek almost looks chromed in fact. But also a good replacement for the standard Cartrix TX1, Ninco NC1 or for a replacement for the Scalextric motors is a BWA motor that also has a 14,000rpm rating the same as a NC1 but only costs $4US. Yes that's right only $4 compared to the rip off price for a Ninco NC1 at $40 or more. I have several fitted to Cartrix and Scaley cars from the Classic GP range and the performance is dead set the same as the NC1 or NC8 motored cars plus they come with a motor shaft that extends out both ends of the motor so they can be endbell and can driven applications. That means they can be fitted to Scaley, Ninco, Carrera, Cartix, Fly etc cars without the need to modify the chassis or motors.
