Thanks for a picture of the track. As a newbie to all of this it is educational to see the layouts. I know i am over motored and definately over geared. Is a good learning curve and nice to know how it all comes together. Top ten finish will be a bonus.

Another track that doesn't suit MJK's. How many are there down there?

I actually ran some tests yesterday with my NZPR Mosler. I ran it as it was setup 3 years ago but now with NSR tyres,it laped in 6.23 I then fitted a new set of MJK tyres ready for NZ and the lap times only dropped to 6.37. So it is not just MJK tyres.

Looking forward to the race, where the "steady" pace of the standard Porsche will tell...... :D.

I think all NSR's and MJK's should be banned, then I'd be 5th....

Nice one Phil....very quick reporting.

One thing I've found interesting in these Q results was a second place for a car with Ninco rubber on it (no offense, BEEJAY7 ;) ). Having standard shoes perform so well against the NSR, MJK, Paul's and Ortmanns is kind of a surprise to me. I've never had luck with my OTB Nincos, primaraly because of their tyres - I run on wood, flat latex finish.

I'm curious as to how things will develop during the race...

Cheerio lads! :D

The Ninco tyred car is running on its home track it should do well. I am surprised that Beejays Porshe has so little grip all reports indicate that the tyres he is using should be almost as good as Ortmans.

Correct Phil.....they are as good as Ortmans on my track...i just can't explain it I'm afraid. Are you sure you're not treating those tracks down there with Vegemite or some equally obnoxious stuff? :arggg:

At round 1 your car was the last car to run so only had MJK dust on the track!

That could be it Phil. That MJK dust is a known tyre degrading product. Is everyone running the pure NSR cars first so they dont get contaminated with MJK dust? :arggg:

Round 2 was run tonight and a great result for John Batich

Posted Image

Drivers were Rhys Filbee,John batich and myself with Callan Thomas driving Johns and my car.

Blue95 car had a gear problem and I managed to get it runing again BUT IMO it will need a new pinion at least very soon. The pinion is showing signs of wear as is the alloy hub of the crown gear,I think it would be best to send both down to be replaced.

Great result there Tassie cars 123 which is understandable as you guys actually run on this track. I am not sure wherre sprint is from but his car only weighs 90 grams so he cant possibly be from tassie :) Unless i am mistaken i got fastest lap of the race on lane 3 which i am happy about. Car looked competitive for time but must have had more offs which is understandable given the drivetrain. My car is going well which I am surprised given the tracks so far. The weird thing is in tracks like BMR and Silverzone where i expect it to go well it will probably go like a dog such is the way plans turn out. Both of those tracks are Enoch grey ferrador and after seeing how manimals ortman shod car gripped up at silverzone I think we will all be racing for second place with Espix way out in front.

Bugger!!
but by my calculations (probably not very good) i may just be at the top of the leader board.
Steve, hurry up and do it properly!!!
I'll be very happy if my car leaves hobart up near the top. :)

Does anyone down there who will see the car before next round have the necesary parts I can buy off them to fix the problem?
