Howdy all,

For the 2007 series, I registered the domain DOWNUNDERPROXY.COM as well as run the website. For 2008, I re-registered the domain and Muggy ran the website.

I am in the process of consolidating my domains and at this stage, I am not willing to pay for DOWNUNDERPROXY.COM. If anyone is interested, I am, though, willing to transfer the name. If no one says anything, the name will expire (26th of Jan).

Please let me know if there is anyone willing to take it on

Cheers

If its Ok with evryone then I think the entry fees should pay for the registration of the name

Any major objections to this happening?

Hey guys,

I am willing to help out and put some work into the website.

I am at this moment doing three websites..
my own (OK have not done much there the past year) the Mini Mille Miglia and one for the BATracer Slotracers clans.

BATracer website

Mini Mille Miglia website

My slightly outdated website (collection-racetrack etc)

If you have any problems or questions feel free to ask and i will do all i can to help out.

And i agree, with a slight raise in the entrance fee the domain costs should be able to get covered

Cheers,
Jaak

The thing is, $11 here, $11 there. Frankly if no-one could give a toss about the website, I was going to let it fall. I would rather $11 in my pocket then spend it on something that no-one cares about (& at this stage, I probably don't care about)

I'm sure the forum is best way of keeping people informed how the proxy race is going anyhow.

So what is the verdict? Is it going to be kept going and if so what are the benefits of having it rather than just using the Auslot forum? Are you able to put in more photos or data or whatever. It sems a bit tough for someone to have to keep on updating it when maybe the track hosts or friends with some puter savvy that are there on the night etc can just post the pics results in the appropriate thread on the forum. I am not really savvy with computers but am curious as to what the benefit actually is.

If I may venture an opinion, there's nothing to be gained by having a separate website for a Proxy Series.

Forums work great for this, particularly if you have a tame moderator who will help out by Sticking key Threads (things like Registration, Rules, and Specifications Threads) at the top of the DUPR Forums for easy reference.

If the initial Track Host could also photo-document all the cars, with their owner's names beside them, and put all the photos in their own Thread - similarly Stuck for easy accessibility - this would be great, too.

Being as I'm spouting off here, would also be good if sometimes Mods could Edit/Delete out some of the repetition in the Threads; what I'm getting at, is that something about the nature of this board seems to trigger repeated Quotes from previous - including photos, even - that make it really hard to follow some of the Threads at times as you're reading the same stuff over and over. ;)

Wet has some good points. I have noticed that some of the threads do repeat or loose context. Also we do not do very well with info and pics of the cars with this proxy race,it is hard to go back after even six months to find all the car info.It helps all entrants if the car and track info from the previous year is available for referance when building for the next year.

I spent some time sorting the details of cars from the last two years for Stig to help him.
