Hi guys , i just got back into slotcars 6 months ago and started with a digital start set with the 2 minis a small oval track, this is what my track has progessed to so far

I havent really done much work on the scenery side of things but more concentrated on getting the track working good.
After starting with the 4 car pb i now have 2 6 car powerbases one upgraded to pb pro with the simple-h mod and powered by a Manson 0-15v 25amp regulated power supply,
also have power taps and copper taped the rails, i have 4 straight lane changers and the pit. With all the mods the track works great. Also have a computer setup to run RMS software.
I hope to start doing the scenery side of things soon now that i have the digital side of things all sorted and i will post some more pics when i get some of it done.

Cheers John

Nice layout you have there, good use of the space, what size is that space do u know?

I've got about 4m by 2.5 to build a track in & i've come up with a similar sorta design, just gotta get some more track.......

Cool i thought so, good guess..........

Is your track ninco or scaletrix digital? I can't tell from the pics & i'm no expert.......

I'm going to start with a two lane scx digital in about the same space, I'm also gonna start with a small digital set & then get more track to add on as i go, get the track sorted first then build the scenery around it.

I'd be interested to know if there is anything you would do differently in hindsight or has it all worked out pretty sweet?

Also (full of questions tonight eh) what sort of scenery are you considering doing?

The track is scalextric digital, i wouldn`t change a thing i know SSD is a bit primative out of the box but if you spend an extra bit of cash on the aftermarket upgrades it then becomes all good, but it also depends on personal preferences and what you want out of your track
I havent really decided on what to do with the scenery yet, its my first time building a track with scenery so i will probably come up with ideas as i go along

We should visit each other tracks some time.

What cars do you normally drive on the track?

Cool, I want to do the same,

mine will be non mag though and they are highly modified, so you may want to borrow one of my V8's to race on my track, or you could modify one of yours, I'll show you what I have done when we catch up.
I could buy another V8 and leave it unmodified so I can race on yours though,

I live at Whiteside its 5 minutes up the road from Petrie in Brisbanes northern suburbs, at the moment i only have family members that have bought cars to come and race and they are all standard with the magnets but we use MJK tyres, i would run other classes like modified V8`s, Slot its and anything else if we have enough turn up, im sure i could lend you a car if we can only run stock V8`s, i would love to see how good a well setup non mag car goes on my track as they sound like they would be fun to race.

Hi. Lovely track.

I was wondering who designed it for you?

I wish to build a track 7metres x 4 metres is the size it will be and am looking for some help from someone who could dsign me a killer track.

i was thinking of using a lot of your ideas as i really like your track. could you email me your desing?

did you use software to design it?

Could you suggest anything for me given i will have my track at 7m x 4m?

regards

Craig

Thanks Craig, I have a copy of the free Scalextric track designer that is available from there website, but i didn`t use it to design the track i have now, as i found it better once you have a table setup to just make a layout and then put a couple of cars on the track and give it a drive and see if you like it. I made a couple of different layouts till i was happy with the layout which i then made a couple of minor adjustments to make it better. A 7x4 table would be great to build a track on, one thing to keep in mind is if you were to build one similar to mine but on a 7x4 table would be that marshalling cars in the middle of the table would be a nightmare! Other than that i probably couldn`t give you much more advice as i haven`t built a track that big yet, but i hope to at least double the size of my track in a couple of years time but that is a while off.

Cheers John

Just caught up with this thread. Love the track and the room - and I'm just a further 5 mins up the road at Narangba. Sounds like we run similar cars as well so could be fun to get together.
