Skulldrifter.
Some say he was born in the back of an AE86. Some say he even has negative camber on his feet. All we know is he's the Skulldrifter!

Welcome on board SD,
have alook through this tread,
http://www.auslot.co...?showtopic=3093
it got Sax's lifting setup.
Otherwise just go through the members home track section, tonnes of info there.
I am working on something like that myself, but is not ready yet.
Will have pulleys and elec motors.

I was about to post the same link! Sax's post does show the ups and downs of a pulley system
Maybe the mods can move this thread to the track folder for greater exposure??

Skulldrifter,
I have a few pics of my set up
What I have done is off two seperate shed steel columns placed a manual winch on each. The wire then runs up to the top of the column through a pulley (which is actually a double pulley - because the wire is branched into two up the column). From there the wires run along the roof structure to a secondary pulleys on the roof structure exactly above where I want to pick the track table up from. The wire then is verticle to the table and pretty much out the way when racing.
Tips:
Always use double clamps/ crimps to secure the wire rope
Use rated ratchet straps (eg 500kg) as a secondary restraint when the table is in the roof so in case the pulley system does fail - it doesnt come crashing down as it unfortunately did for sax.
Use good quality pulleys / wire rope and not the cheapo bunnings drop forged style.

I have posted these on another thread somewhere but it was a bit too deep in the thread.
Hope it helps a bit
