Hi All,
Sorry if this is somewhere already and I have not found it - I want to lay some grass material under my permanent ninco track and was wondering what is the best material/product. I am really after a nice balance of price and effect.
Felt maybe?
Any advice would be fantastic, photos of what it looks like would be really fantastic. I see some great examples on members tracks but dont know what people are using.
Thanks, JRob

pic from my track, grass is woodlands scenics, and after you are shown "properly" by someone that knows scenery (as I have been lately), it goes a lot further than you think!

haha wasn't me that did it! Ian (forum member of the same name) is a train fella and has plenty of experience with scenery - he's been around helping me out (doing most) with scenery. Something I wanted but never had motivation or skill to do!

Thanks heaps for the help guys. Have actually laid some polar fleece, and am going to add some woodland scenics to pretty it up. That scenery is amazing Gref - i cant see myself getting anywhere near that!

I have taken something like that, from modeltrainscenery.
A other cheap way is to take little planing chips or sand and color it.
Tips to put something like this on your track:
If you take something like little flacks or flocculate (sorry, i dont no the right english word, i hope thats something you understand), than put it in a clean squezzer bottle (empty ketchup) and shake it in there, so the flocculate will be elektrostatic and turn to high if you "shut" them on the place.
Before you put them on this place, mix some glow with color (green) and get this on the place, so you now where to shut and it looks like better in future.
At last you get the rest up with an vaccum cleaner, if you put a Nylonstocking inbetween the tube of the vaccum cleaner, you earn the rest back and you can use it again.

The green Mats looks a little bit boring, but it is good if you whant to green a big place thats plan.
Alternativ you can take carpet of gras.

thanks, but I can't take the credit for it, Ian did it for me - you should see what else is in "production"...I took a pic the other day to see how it looked half done and it looked awesome, so once it's done and we race our last round here - I'll start a new topic with new pics
