MAKE COLOUR CODE FROM TO TYPE
GENERAL MOTORS HOLDEN ABSINTH YELLOW 15949/1D008 1974/1975 SOLID
GENERAL MOTORS HOLDEN ABSINTH YELLOW 1D008 1974/1975 SOLID
GENERAL MOTORS HOLDEN CHROME YELLOW 1D020/15893 1974--

Looking at some off the above pic's i think the colour is "JASMINE YELLOW" this colour was popular in the late 70's early 80's on the HZ kingswood, premier's and the VB commodore range..and very popular on the SS & SL/R 5000 Tory's.

Check out this site..
And click paint codes at the bottom left.

The Jasmine yellow was a few shades lighter - more like the Warwick yellow on the HK Monaros .
The Ron Hodgson Torana colour is most likely to be the Chrome yellow . This link will take you to a site with the colours that Holden offered on the Toranas 1975 SLR 5000 Chrome yellow looks to be the one

thanks for your replies blokes I have a copy of vintage racecar with some excellent colour pics of the car as it is now in the bathurst museum looking at the paint chips on the torry site there doesn't seem to be a great difference in the absinthe and the chrome but going on the pics I have I think more to the absinthe.
thanks again for the help

Chrome Yellow?? Probably??

http://sportspics.co...sb/0242-012.htm

Not a big difference in shade between the two yellows.

I just pulled up my link above and BMRs link and its Chrome Yellow. Look at them side by side.

Viv,
if you can wait for 2 weeks,
I plan to go to the museeum at Bathurst on the wendesday.
Could ask for the exact details, while I am up there.
