Hi all,
I am going to Phillip Island and Bathurst soon.
(MotoGP and 1000)
I will take few photos of the marshal huts/stands, will also measure them for size.
Andy asked me already for pantech photos.
Also, kerbs will get a shot.
If anybody has special requests, please let me know before next wendesday (01-10-08)

Cheers

When we put the track in (slotcar track that is) we were asked about the tyre barriers round the track - we priced it up and it was going to cost something like $10,000 extra - we all agreed it was not needed

Look at the real track - I reckon they have more green tyre barriers than grass - 90m made up of replicated little Scaly type tyres

When I was at the Island for the V8 500k race, I noticed there must've been 20,000 of them.
Naturally I thought 'how can I replicate that?'

Then the other night the missus brought home some offcuts of small tubes (used for packing fire crackers of all things!) and this morning I sorted the crap from the usable ones.
This is what they will look like.

I reckon they're just right to be topped off with some dirt and grass (think under the walkover bridge at the end of Conrod)

Christian, if you could... a shot of the area between Sulman and McPhillamy (there's a wide section of road on the left with an earth embankment using a tyre wall.)
Also some shots of the natural rock wall on the outside of Forrest's Elbow.
Oh, one more... the inside of Forrest's Elbow too....
You couldn't get a couple of the Castrol Tower could you?

Thanks.
Dick

Knoath, Andy,
I think,
I will start a spread sheet with what and where.
That way I hopefully do not forget.
Planning to be up there by Wendesday lunch time,
because I want to go to the museeum again as well.
