Went to the baby markets with wife and son to look for goodies and found a dolls house for 5 bucks which looks very much like 1/32 scale or near enough. It is only a front of a building, fairly wide about 40cms and 20cms tall. Has lots of windows and is detailed enough for my liking.

When i get home from grandma's i'll pull it apart and give it a light rub with the sand paper before undercoating tomorrow. Just need to get rid of the bright colours and the plastic gloss look but i think it has potential.

Will add an mdf backing on it later in week.

Will post pics when I get the chance.

It measures about 40 high by 60 wide by 12 deep, once i tidy the back up. The base will go and i'll screw it to the track table when finished. Looking forward to getting stuck into this soon.

Do you know the name of the company that makes this mansion? Looks very promising. Can't wait to see what you do with it!

That IS brilliant... mebbe put it against a back wall facing the track (I wouldn't want to be trying to peer over that behemoth during
a race) The wife thinks it should be a PUB... ye olde english mayhap?

I think the company was 'polly pocket'

I guess it could turn into anything really.

I vaguely remember the name from when my niece used to stay with us. Little girl figures, like homies in size and shape and i guess this is a house what they used to play in.

For a while I had kept my eye out for a dolls house (in a non creepy way) but the scales were always too big.

It will only be half a building, obviously, like Luf does to fill in space.

I'll do some more google searches on european buildings before I decide what it will be.

Got some time this week to undercoat the building and give it a top coat. The building is off white but with the grey primer underneath it came out a bit of a dull white which i don't mind. The roof was also undercoated and today I lighting brushed on the terracotta kind of red. On close inspection I think the roof would look worse with a second coat as it kinda looks a bit worn this way.

I need to finish off cutting out the back bits that protrude so I can put an mdf backing to it but need to do some detailing with the matt black spray can yet like my other buildings to give them a dirty look.

Yeah, dirty it up Martin!
It looks heaps better than what it started out as!
But those windows still make it look... like... so, like... American!
