Last night I started to check some cars to build for this race and found that some sre over 64mm so thought it might be a good idea to start a list of cars over 64mm.

My two are:
Ninco Gallaway Corvette 66mm
Ninco JGTC Supra 64.5mm

Maybe others can add any cars they fond too wide to save anyone buying an ubsuitable car.

I can add the Pro Slot Porsche GT2 to this list as it is 64.4mm wide. I also had a ook at the Ninco Supra,it is only .3mm over and IMO Stg you may be able to narrow the body by sanding the flat sides an bit and then repainting the car.

The scaly supra (62.5-63mm) is OK width wise if you wanted to run a Supra.

Sorry Phil, but going by this rule

Quote

1.1.1 No external modification to wheel arches, wings, roof line allowed however internal material may be removed to facilitate wheel/tyre and chassis installation
that would still make the car illegal.

Espsix: I could always recast the body in resin for him and then sand the sides and it would be legal!

Has every one else measured there entries,I am led to believe that the Slot It Mclaren is also too wide?

Phil,
you could do that, and yes the Mclaren is also to wide (by about the same amount), thats why with so many of the cars being to wide (out of the box) maybe it would be easier to raise the limit by 1mm? B)
I would hate to see someone enter one of these cars, only to have them deemed illegal half way through the proxy.
but as it stands, there are 4 cars from the list (maybe 5 with the Zonda) that can't be entered. :nice:
Just my 2cents worth.

I thought there was talk of the 64mm being for the wheel track.. being that the wheel's had to be within the 64mm width from outside of the tyre's?.

its in the notes:
Some concern has been raised about some models being wider than the maximum even though they are on the list. If that’s the case then the model is outside the rules. The width rule outweighs the list. It has been suggested the maximum width should be set to 65mm to take into account manufacturing variations but this is a manufacturing issue not a proxy rule issue so the 64mm maximum is fixed. If I made it 65mm then someone would ask about a car that was 65.5mm wide.

Particular attention will be placed on front and rear track widths. Likewise particular attention will be placed on the 1.6mm (1/16 inch) ground clearance all round including gears. You have been warned

The front wheels on my NINCO LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO was a tad over 64mm but I had a bit of room to bring them in. Every thing else was right on the limit.

Ok I don’t have a problem because my car is an angle winder but those that are looking at using a side winder may have to do some research as most sidewinder gears are 19mm and the largest tyre I have found is about 21mm leaving you with just approximately 1mm clearance. :nice:

Does this

Quote

Particular attention will be placed on front and rear track widths
mean you'll be going by track width, not body width?
Sorry for asking dumb questions, but i'd like to make sure my cars don't have any legality issues!

Didn't think of that, but that would never happen! :nice:

I raised the suggestion of 64 mm for width of the axles, just thought it might be a good conpromise.

Stig: Go and remeasure YOUR Supra because my Ninco Supra is just under 64mm! Maybe your has been bent out or are you measuring with a Plasic ruler?

1.4.8 Wheels/tyres should not run outside the cars bodywork .i.e. if you see wheels and or tyres when viewed from above then they are illegal and must be made narrower
Normal people worry me
