Nominations for entries have come in far quicker than I expected

As mentioned in the Notes section of the regs should the number rise above 40 I will look at running a 'One round - One State' series for first time entries - all the regs will be the same but depending on feedback from hosts it may be over a slightly shorter race distance but nothing is settled yet.

I will revisit the sellecting numbers thing once I have a better idea of total numbers.

I see my entry has been taken up as the Ninco Mclaren F1 GTR which is fine but I would be interested to know why the Ninco Mercedes CLK GTR that I had proposed as my first choice is not eligible in this class. I always thought that the Ninco model is based on the CLK that ran against the Mclaren F1 GTRs in the 1997 and 1998 FIA GT championship, not the later 1999 CLR version with the Group C derived motor. If I am right and the Mclaren is eligible, why not the Mercedes as both competed for the FIA GT championship?. Also if it is the GT version then it won't be doing back flips down the straight like it's LM successor, at least I hope not. Having said all this I will enter the Mclaren or something else resiny if the Mercedes is to be deemed not GT enough.

Thanks for everything so far I think this will be a great series.

Steve: May I suggest that once all the places are full we start a short reserve list, then later call for entry fees and IF some don't finalize their entry we allow the reserves in.

I've looked up all the 'what if'setc and 'whens' and have now included the car because it did race in FIA GT series up to 1998 along with the McLaren F1 however it didn't race in 1999. In fact it was the ONLY one ready to race in 1999 but no one else was willing - BUT its saving grace is that it was made upto mid 1999. So tis in only cos Mercedes were slack in building their customer cars

Steve, can i get a ruling on the
Spirit:
Peugeot 406
Peugeot 406 Silhouette
Scap that, just saw your other post!!!!!!!

And the upcoming Ferrari 430 Challenge by BBR models (MB Slot)

Here you go for the 430:

F430 Pista The F430 Pista (Pista means "Track" in Italian) is the racing version of the F430 for the Ferrari Challenge. The engine remains untouched but the vehicle's weight has been reduced and it can reach a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h). The production model was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in January, 2006.

[edit] F430 GT2
Posted Image http://en.wikipedia....errari_F430.jpgRisi Competizione's Ferrari F430 GT2 at the American Le Mans Series' Generac 500.Built to replace the 360 GTC in 2006, the GT2 is a racing car designed to compete in international GT2 class competition, such as in the American Le Mans Series, Le Mans Series, and FIA GT Championship. F430 GT2s also compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. They are the fastest and most developed racing versions of the F430.

In FIA GT2 championship, in order to render the car performances more uniform, the cars are forced to run with a specific minimal weight and with an engine restrictor that depends on the engine displacement.[6] Hence the 4.3 L V8 engine in GT2 races is destroked to 4.0 L in order to compete in the 3.8-4.0 L class, which is allowed to race with a mimimum weight of 1100 kg (2425 lb).[6] Using the 4.3 L engine, the minimum weight of the F430 would increase by 50 kg (110 lb).[6] In this race configuration, the engine produces somewhat less power, but this is compensated by the lower car weight, which yields a better weight/power ratio.

The F430 GT2s won their class championships in the ALMS and FIA GT, as well as scoring a class win at the 2007 12 Hours of Sebring[7].

[edit] F430 GT3
Originally based on the F430 Pista, the F430 GT3 is a specialized racing car designed for the
FIA GT3 European Championship, but also used in other national GT championships. It is mechanically similar to the F430 Pista, yet has some better developed aerodynamics, including large air exhaust vents in the hood.

Having a full 4.3 L engine the car is more powerful than the GT2 counterpart, however the GT3 rules require that the car has a weight/power ratio of about 2.6 kg/hp, hence the car has a minimium weight above 1200 kg (2646 lb) in race trim (driver and fuel excluded).[citation needed] Considering the less developed aerodynamics, and about 10% of extra weight, the car is clearly slower than the GT2 version; for example in the 2007 Spa 24h race, in which both models were entered, the GT3 spec vehicle was about 8 seconds slower in its best qualification lap times than the GT2 spec vehicle.

I have to ask how it is that anyone can be talking about having "future" releases pre-approved for this series?????

We already have some cars excluded for their potential to dominate the series........

I am sure there are enough current eligible cars for everyone to choose something.

I am also certain that those asking for these cars to be included pre-release would be arguing twice as hard if they were subsequently banned.

Lets do everyone a favour and leave the list they way it is unless someone can convince the powers that be to include a current car.

But lets have cutoff for that as well so we can all get on with it.

....rant over....ducks for cover.... :P

Mexico, the 430 is already avaliable, just not from any of our site sponsors.

And it dosn't bother me if it's banned.

Then its up to us all to make our cars run better to stop that happening - besides the Slot It cant dominate the fixed chassis cars can it

Thanks aastes. Unless I find a resin shell that fits the series I will probably go with Mercedes. I have a couple and I think the chassis is a bit stiffer than the Ninco Mclaren plus it looks like there will be a lot of Slot it Mclarens flying around the tracks. Just one last question on this, promise, is the Ninco Prorace chassis permitted as I do have a Prorace version of the CLK as we well as the standard car. Probably wouldn't go with the Prorace as my standard car with slot it running gear is currently quicker but might be nice to have a go at both chassis if permitted.
