As Steve has already mentioned, i took the cars home with me after the last round.
Unfortunately this means there is a 3 week gap till round 11. (blame the Olympics)
Over the next couple of weeks i'll go over the cars and see if any thing is needed to be fixed on any of them.

Drivers (at this point in time) will be Aastes, Manimmal, and a local "wildcard" driver, i'll Qualify the cars the week before, then marshal alongside Pitlane3 (Christian) on raceday.

cheers
Brett

Because of forces greater than me (the missus) i'm unable to qualify the cars during the weekend, so i started qualifying the cars yesturday afternoon, but half way through, the HDD in the PC crapped itself, so this afternoon, instead of finishing off the qualifying, i'll be formating a new HDD, and loading software

All finished guys.

Lap Record for reference is a 5.4, done with a SlotIt, Nissan 390, with NSR tyres on the back.(and a little Tassie tyre treatment! ;) )

1 Oswald 5.524 Lifts the guide out of the slot under acceleration, but this thing flys!

2 Hellraiser 5.596 Point and shoot.

3 Mopardevil 5.623 Handles very well, with nice accelaration, just kept going quicker.

4 Sprint 5.626 Doesnt like the Stop/Go corners.

5 Magoo 5.638 No bad habits.

6 ESPSIX 5.647 Doesnt like the tight corners, Overgeared.

7 Kalbfellp 5.665 Could do this all day.

8 SportsRacer 5.696 Stuck like s#!t to a blanket, I don't think I got the best out of it, will go quicker!

9 Antony 5.731 Surprisingly quick, once a rear oilight was reglued in.

10 Bitman 5.782 To light in the front!, Awsome power, very noisy (I think it's vibrating itself apart)

11 BMR 5.783 Stays in the slot! Predictable.

12 Newso 5.807 Handles well, but down on speed.

13 Fangio 5.823 Smooth, but a little taily.

14 SidecarSteve 5.823 Hard to be smooth with, but quick.

15 Imugford 5.847 Smooth and quick.

16 DeviousDave 5.914 In a slide, the rear pushes the front out of the slot.

17 Smallnails 5.921 Handles well, easy to drive fast.

18 McGregor 5.991 Spends to much time wheel spining, light in the front.

19 Scar 6.021 To light in the front, taily.

20 Aastes 6.030 Fun to drive, surprisingly good, just down on speed.

21 Gazza 6.034 To taily.

22 Manic35 6.056 Down on speed, taily.

23 Oldslot 6.087 Taily, Back pulls the front out.

24 Manimmal 6.143 Spends a lot of time on two wheels, Didn't like the off camber corner.

25 Imkouwel 6.144 Sounds quicker than what it is, floaty front end.

26 Hmcsat 6.265 Easy to drive, but has slight chatter in left hand corners

27 Eno 6.327 Goes from tail out to tipping without warning.

Fangio and SideCar Steve, posted exactly the same times, so a run off in the other lanes decided who went where.
These are only my thoughts on the cars as i was driving them, not a technical asessment.
I ran them in reverse order of their finishing spots from the last round.

Thanks to Espix and all the guys who were there to make the round a smooth event.

Congratulations to the winners, good to see BMR up front, and for the Audis' to be all together, just shows that they are all of the same calibre,is that reasonably okay, or reasonably mediocre?

This race turned out to be tighter than bull's arse in fly season. Must have been exciting to drive.
Thanks for the round all and congrats to the podium finishers!

Couple of quick ones, just to spoil some of Brett's fun -

BMR's Torana took it out as all three of us were quick without crashing much if at all.

Phil's Corvair got caught up in a crash caused by a bearing failure on Antony's Celica at the end of the back straight. this caused the chassis to become disjointed and drag on the track slowing it up for a few laps before a repair got it back to normal. without this mechanical issue, although i doubt it would have won, it would've been further up the field as it is a predictable and forgiving car.

The quickest car was the red frenchy Renault - i got it to 5.181, almost a third of a second under the existing lap record, and 1/10th quicker than sprint's capri.

Imugford's Charger was my favourite all round car to drive.

There were also a couple of pigs, and the suckiest handler was my Escort which just hates going around corners.......

Apologies to Phil for my car's mechanical ineptitude, congratulations to BMR and the other top place getters and many thanks to all involved in running the round.

Is the bearing failure terminal in the Celica?, should I send a new one or is it just a case of coming unstuck from the chassis?.

one more round to go.....

Brett will let you know how bad the damage is, there is a 'jump' at the end of the back straight, and it took 8 laps for me to break the repair made in qualifying (my bad, it was really fast and really stable, so the 'jump' was being taken agressively). The Celica was very fast up until that point, and to keep it running the bearing was popped back into place and driven very carefully, costing it around 2/10ths a lap, better than a dnf.

First off, A big thanks to Chris and Jas for driving for the round, and thanks to Chris for showing me how slow i am!! :D

And a huge thanks to Christian for a great job of marshaling for the day, also for being "race director" and for posting up the results so the guys didn't have to wait till i get back to work on tuesday!!!!! (i'm at the local libary at the moment)

Chris, i ran the "red frenchy Renault " after everyone went home, and in the first 1/2 dozen laps in the yellow lane got it down to 5.245 (jason is not happy) :D What a monster!!!!!

Antony's rear oilight problem is not terminal, it will be reglued before i get the cars off to Steve for the final round.
Phils car should be alright.

BMR's car was great to drive, and just got better and better as the racing went on, Well done on the win!

I'll get the fastest lap details for everyone tommorow, but lots of cars went quicker in the race than they did in qualifying (thanks to Chris)

Manics car has faired the worst, once hitting the wall when no one was driving it :) , and in it altercation with a little blue escort. :o
