Can anyone let me know if they have created or know where to get a replica scalextric cameraman and camera or equivalent.

I bought mine off ebay for $20. Two camera guys two homies and a scaffold from vic.

I made mine from Balsa wood, an upturned golf tee and some Plastistrut tubing :-

I used the scurs for the legs of mine and made the camera from some pics I found on the net using balsa.

It still has to have the 'planks" added in this pic.

From an active camera man's point of view, dont be afraid to put an esky and a chair up there with the camo as you do get hungry and tired...
Most of the scaff's I've been up dont have stairs either....
If you want to be "realistic" in a modern sense, all the commentary and vision switching is done from inside a nice warm truck these days with cables feeding the vision back from the camera ponits...
The old film camera's had to have the commentary laid directly onto the film as it was being rolled, hence the commentator on the lower level of the old scaley towers...
Also if going for a "new" look forget about the mickey mouse ears on the camera...

How did I do that???
I think is all skewered up!
The ABC has a gallery that shows some older cameras and there is a Video Museum on line and you can just build camera's from the period you need.

Good work phil, most of my camera experience is with late model tape based stuff, I plan to base mine around a current broadcast setup...
