Why does it not surprise me that Hellrazors car is the fastest. Best comment so far about Jan's car is "I was afraid for my scenery" laugh.gif

Round 10 has been run and won.

I am only glad that series co ordinator Sidecar Steve was present to see such a close finish to a race. The winning margin was just 1/100th of a lap from second place. In fact the first 6 cars were covered by less than a lap.

Major congratulations to Oswald who jsut scraped in for a very tight victory from kalbfellp followed by Hellraiser

Just going through some photots and will post more info/hard luck stories shortly

Each car was given 6 x two minute heats rather than 3 x 4 minute heats. The same drivers were used on each lane so each driver got to drive each car.

The closeness of the finish is very surprizing when you take into account the great variety of chassis designs and motors used.

The wash up

Some cars are now showing a bit of 'use' in both bodywork and mechanics.

The hard luck story from today is probably Sports as his car was fortunate to have finished as high as it did because in three heats it threw a wire from the guide, well twice actually cos the third time the wire came oout the eyelet. Its saving grace was that the car was fitted witha push fit guide not a one with a screw at the top else refitting the wire would have lost it more laps. Had it not been for this problem we all have no doubts it would have been right at the pointy end.
McGregors car also threw a guide wire.

Mannimal managed to cause a short lap by having one of its rear wheel cross the line before the rest of the car. It did finish the heat ( luckily its last for the day) but did loose some laps

BMR, sorry mate it suffered a slipping clutch in one heat which lost it time whilst the correct sized allen key was found ( an NINCO one was handy but not the slarger size that your cog took.) Once fixed it was fine but it did cost few laps.

Bitmans front axle came adrift causing the front wheels to lock up plus one front body mount broke.

Hellraisers car is gradually getting lighter and lighter as bits of bodywork break off.

Phils car after mid pack performance in qualifying just kept getting better and better and although by no means the fast car it was the most predictable and henc it crept its way up the field to miss out on winning by such a small margin.

The surprize package was the Charger which loved the track and was unlucky not to finish higher. Not the most high tech chassis but so smooth finishing within a lap of the winner

The place getters

D Dave round the loop

The surprize performer - the charger

Hellraiser pulling away from Magoo across the top of the track

Not a posed shot - ESPSIX failing to take the bridge

All cars are with ESPSIX for a bit of TLC prior to the next round.

Many thanks to the drivers especially Beastmaster and ESPSIX who drove every heat and thank you Mt Panarama for driving and marshalling and also Sidecar for attending, plus of course Ian and Christian

Fantastic work, not just by the racers today but also by Sidecar for having the vision to run such an event. Plus of course thanks to all those who entered cars in what was without a doubt the best and closest racing I have seen with Proxy cars

THANKS FOR POSTING THE RESULTS SO SOON STEVE.

With such a close finish there will be little change in the points at the top.

Congratulations to the podium winners and aastes for running and reporting on what I (as a spectator) believe to be one of the best so far.

The big trophy is still up for grabs and a lot of movement in the top 10.

After helping out at Vinno's what seems like many moons ago I'm surprised that so many cars are still in the event.

Eno: I hope you get an award for your car providing the most entertainment in each round. laugh.gif

Thanks again aastes for your time and special effort.

it was great to assist steve in running the cars, I now have RSI !!!
Having said that, some of the cars were really good to drive , the charger was a beauty as was BMR's torana until it had transmission problems, Phil your car is very suited to strves track and we thought you had it won until i had the last heat with the celica to put it into first place. Espix was also unlucky has he was in the hunt until he stuffed it up on his last run in his own car !!!.

other really good cars were the Calibra and devious daves audi.

great fun

Thanks to all involved with the latest Round.

Very happy with my first ever round win smile.gif

Funny was only saying to my Brother and Bitman last night how ive had good results of late except for the last round and thought that the car might be in for a win soon.I get up this morn to see if the results were up yet and i fell off my chair to see i had won and by a small margin like that would have to be almost a equal first but i guess 100th of a lap is 100th of lap.

Once again thanks to everone involved and hoping to have my track up and running to have a round for next years Proxy Series

Thanks for the nice comments on the car , the slipping transmission was a downer sad.gif but it is pushing a lot of weight around - I will put in a 1 tonne clutch next year and maybe a dose of locktight on the spur gear to axle area could be a good idea tongue.gif learning learning all the time - proves that building for reliability is just as important as speed and handling huh.
Congrats to the top finishers for round 10

This sort of information is invaluable, both to the entrants and to those that are going to enter in the 2009 proxy.
