San Phoeno Rally Track V2.0

So I have drawn up things I would like the new track to include.
1. More table area, current track is on an 8x4ft table so new one should be atleast 75% bigger.
2. I can spread things out a little more and have the road surface be wider inplaces.
3. Include some manual switches (like my first track 4yrs ago) to allow for more than one track to drive.
4. Have less detailed scenery than the current table is bigger and money is tighter, so look for cheaper alternatives to the smaller track.
5. Transfer current houses, timing/electricals, trees to the new track.
6. Have table take up less space in the garage even thou it will be a bigger table.
7. Have more elevations, than the current rally track, more like the old San Phoeno Raceway.
8. Design to have some longer faster flowing sections to break up some of the up and down of the current design.
I'll keep you posted.

I read the post, fully understand what you're doing.
I was just referring to how my interest in this has been ignited, that's all.
Lots of pics, remember!!!?

You could fit a few folded hairpins at one end of the table for a short climb then drop back down with a steep short straight, like the ACT rally's "mineshaft"
Is the pizza shop moving to the new track?

Now there's a track idea I could look at....
Good to see the pizza shop and houses will survive, I like them too.
Well Martin, when does this start to take shape?

Manged to acquire some free 3mm mdf which I am going to have to do double thickness, but this seems to give me the ability to do some great elevation changes and still have some strength to it. Also picked up free of charge, a number of lengths of 66mm x 10mm pine which I used to make the base. I have put them in 300mm apart as the 3mm will need more bracing as it isn't as strong as 6mm.
It is 3600mm x 1800mm or 12ft x 6ft.

Picked up from Bunnings a number of those 90cm lengths of timber for roughly a dollar each and started doing some testing of the doubled up 3mm to see what I could do with the elevations.

Also came up with a plan.

The colours represent the different sized boards I have to use. The old track is the same size as the yellow board. The red dots represent switches so I will end up with 6 tracks in one. 3 different layouts in clockwise and anti clockwise.
Looking forward to getting on with it.

Can you explain the track directions via the red dots a bit more?
I like the idea Martin, will follow it's evolution.
