Onya Adam are you coming up next Monday night ? The wife has Okayed me to buy some more silicone . Shes gonna want something for herself soon . Hows it going with the refilling of the clear glass areas ?
Easy work, my only problem is work gets in the way of time. Wont take long to fill up the windows.
You reckon 2mm wall section, or do you want thicker
Cheers

2mm sounds good to me , I am going to see if the resin supplier has something that is a little harder next time as the first few are Ok and will survive the usual slot car crashes well but they could be a little harder in my opinion . The Scalextric type cars are a harder plastic and they survive well .
Im curious about this only because Im adding box guards to a body at the moment . Im using the same styrene glue that I used to make the plug to glue bits onto the body and this glue is supposed to partially melt the plastic to make it bond , the styrene card is fine but the body melts a little easier and goes soft quickly . Once its all set / dried its all ok again but its not hard to mess it up by something as simple as a dribble running down the sides . I will ask the supplier about other casting plastic options and post any info I get .
Don't burn your candle at both ends rushing to make the plugs , myself and many others into slot cars have been waiting for the big manufacturers to make Aussie cars for years , so a little longer will not hurt , time spent now is quality later huh . Cheers mate
