Hi Phil,
Sports GT Sedans 72-82 were suggested in another thread in this post Sports GT
I would define that as a sub class of Sports Sedans limited to cars based on Grand Touring cars manufactured between 1972 and 1982. I'll do some more research on that as to specific cars but I'd thing Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, etc... Probably where the Lancia Deta/Celica/Capri Group 5 cars would be as well.

Have you selected an option in every question? Even if you vote for LMP, you still need to indicate a response in both the Group C and Sedan sub polls.

Mate, I am the only one to race that car. Too much effort to build it for it to get trashed as I am unsure it would last. Proxy races can be hard on cars. Also, it will come back from Tassie covered in mould release or something like that. Sorry Phil next time I do something different I will send it down to you before I finish it.

Many are front engined, and many others just have crap chassis's. Even allowing motor pods there will be only a very small number of decent cars.
IMO I think the Fly racing should be allowed along with some of the later years cars such as the Scalex jag.
I like the idea of the Sports sedans but I don't think many have really thought about what cars fit the RULES before voting.

Perhaps the class could be extended, something like 1965 - 2000. The extra 10 years will make all difference to having a great field for the 2008 proxy.

Taking your points, my thoughts on Fly Racing Capri's being eligible was based on the premise that the last DUPR decided to ban Slot.it 312 Ferarris because of the advantage they would have over other cars in the field and the feeling we would end up with a grid full of Slot.it 312s. I think the same goes for the Fly Racing Capri.
If people want to race the Scalex Jag, they could cast a vote for Modern Sedans. Making execptions for one car leads down the path of making more and likely end up with the same cars that were run in DUPR 2006.
Extending the date range to 2000 for sedans may be the best compromise. If we do that how about we just call it Sports sedans pre 2000?
Another possible consideration is to tweak the rules to improve the chassis available by allowing eligible bodies to be fitted to any RTR chassis (excluding plafit, hrs, etc...).
I'm not going to tinker with the poll, 'cause this is Mk2 already. Can I suggest we just let this poll run its course then appoint a group to fine tune the regs so we can have some fun with this?

I seriously doubt I will get a sedan to run well with my limited skills, none of the models I own in this class are great on track, they are fun to drive but very challenging. However if it's to be sedans then I will have a go at a Sedan but I like the idea of extending the years to let in some better handling cars for the less skilled car builders like me.

The extention of the class to include 65 - 2000 sedans as you say may be the best compromise to make a competitive and enjoyable proxy for both the old hats and the new guys giving it a bash for the first time.
BTW, I am happy to host one of the QLD rounds and am happy to volunteer Manic to do the same.
Cheers
'Chris
