How many cars did you and Wayne test the other night? I gave you my slug DTM, 19K rpm I think and my NASCAR at 20.2K. Most seemed to come in around 20K, errr except for your "modified" standard motor Ashley, that seemed a run a little higher.
If we set the RPM at 21.5K for the Scaly motors I think that would cover 95% of all the cars. I suppose every now and then there will be a screamer of a motor produced.
cheers

Hi Rick
The technical committee has already made a decision and has set the RPM at 21000 RPM the official rules are still being typed as Jordan has the original doc. He also has exams, I would expect to see some official rules early Dec. Don’t be to alarmed by this, most motors will be under this value if for what ever reason your motor is over by say 10 RPM. Three individual tests will be carried out if all reading are over 21000 RPM the motor will need to be changed or the car will be eligible for the open or GT1 races.
Im sorry if this causes any finacial burden to any of the members,

We are also yet to think about the torque range some brand motors have ? A torquey motor can drag a lot of weight along , therefore a car can be loaded with lead and stay in the slot easier. Should we impose a weight limit of say 20 - 25 grams over stock box weight ? Just an idea to try to keep the playing field even between the different brands . We don't want to end up with everyone running the same brand again do we ?

Steve,
I think a NINCO NC5 equipped car would have a small edge ove a scaly car. Perhaps just run with it and if NINCO cars are constantly blowing Scaly cars away we reasses it? Scaly, Fly, Revell use the same mabuchi and the current SCX cars are on par. Thats a reasonable range.
