Any car with lights was the call for cars , I called any car because not everyone has the same kind of car to race (with lights) so this time around its any car . To be fair try not to use a high rev car that will obviously give you a big advantage , but if its all you have then that will do. Long distance race will be the format . depending on numbers we could make it a teams event

Hi Steve
What about making it GT and touring cars with up to sports car grp 2 motor spec ( up to 21,000???) I think most of us have cars like that. the scx GT's and DTMs with RX42B and scalex motored GT's.

Are you talking about Trippy. Trippy & me are friends. He likes to trip & I like to throw it in the box in disgust.

This means that I need to tune it this weekend doesn't it. Less playing with photo's & more time in the shed hey?

Its OK Triggy, I'll drive the Corvette with the lights turned off to give ya a chance B) . Actually the Corvette doesnt have lights. The only car I have with lights is the Opel DTM which is pretty standard apart from Al rims. I havent touched a slotcar in 3 months. You guys are going to have to give me a 3 lap head start just so I can come last by only 2 laps. :D

cheers

Oh my this all got a bit silly hasn't it

Jeez Dave who put itchy powder in your undies mate?

I like to have fun too, I didn't say anything about winning at all costs, I'm not that quick. but I do like to know what I'm mean't to be racing and at least be somewhere near the pace and not getting in the faster cars way.
Right up till yesterday I and maybe some others thought it was GT's with lights as per the posted calendar. I didn't have a car that covered that description so I went out and bought and prepared what I thought was a suitable car similar to what most of the group run. I spent some time and money to make it raceable only to discover that the goal posts have been moved less than a week out from the race and now its a free for all with lights but don't make it too fast.
Leaves it open for interpretation by the "win at all cost types" a bit. (If any exist in this group)

When we had the meeting to formalise things a bit more we made up a calendar so we all knew well in advance what was happening so we avoid the " what are we racing next week" discussions of the past and the "I dunno,...... short wheelbase cars" ( what ever that is) type responses.
as for Waynes event being moved that was a no brainer really, as he didn't have his track built, though the class didn't change or the event style , so I can't see the relevance of that to this discussion.
if the race program is going to be changed at somebody's whim there ain't much point in having one really, we may as well go back to the above mentions scenario
If there is going to be a change at least fair warning be given.

yes the group is changing and for the better one would hope.

all I'm saying is lets keep it consistent and fair for ALL involved with racing in this group.

The womp comment was a flippant attempt at humour, not seriousat all. maybe I didn't use enough emoticons to show that

Having said all that, I'll be turning up with the car I built for the race regardless of what others are running and hope to do well with it. And have fun while doing it

I'm over it now let's go racing eh??

regards
Alan

<_< :) :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D : lots of smilies. see

I would have left it as GT2 with lights but as most people still don't have a car in there box ready to race in a GT2 with lights class event, so I had to open the event up to anything with lights . Easily fixed we can take those with the wrong cars outside and take turns kicking them in the B@lls !
Well done Lenny you got yourself organised and prepared a GT2 with lights , yes it has been posted for a long time that it would be a GT2 with lights event.
Of course you all did realize its a 1/24th event didn't you.....Been posted that way for a long time now. :yellowbounce:
