Hey Steve.
I think your being a bit harsh on Chris there mate.
Keep in mind he is fairly new to our racing and I don't think he has been to Hovno before either. It's not the most open of tracks is it? He would have been busy enough trying to run his own race to notice you charging up behind him.
I don't believe that the nerfs were intentional at all and seeing where he got you on a couple of times it's not the easiest part of the track to be side by side. I certainly wouldn't try to overtake on the outside there if I could help it.
I thought your race seeding depended on where you finished the previous round. whoever loaded the names into the computer may not have done this on this occasion. It's not Chris's fault where he was seeded.
Try to remember when you were a "crasher" and not a " real driver" eh !
As for applying penalties, that's another rule to enforce isn't it and we gotta keep it simple huh???
lets keep this in perspective......... old boys wth toy cars
any way on to the Big valley next round

My point was that if this was the real championship I would be most $%#@ed off .
Seeding racers into groups that suit each other is a better way to go - I have always had this opinion. I can show you a box of broken cars that are the result of (new to the club drivers) that accidentially forgot to slow down for the corner and used my car as a braking marker.
By the way I was actually never a crasher ...not into other cars anyway ! I always gave way to other faster drivers and even other slower drivers if they were obviously going to get by me , this habit is learned very early in 1/24th scale clubs because you actually have to spend a lot of time building a car or buying an old 1960's car so you don't want to crash them , or be the one to blame for breaking someone elses $250.00 toy.
In 1/32 racing the toys are cheap and easy to get so if I was to T bone your car off the track onto the floor it wouldn't really bother you HUH ?

I still dont even know what Gt-2 category is? Im reluctant to modify any of my cars until the rules are laid out. Im sure Id have to retro fix some of them to make them more stock but I dont know what the rules are.

I was cleaned up couple of times last night too. Also at your place last time when the guy (a crasher???) was on the other side of the track and took me out from three lanes away .
Cost me a lap annd a good position as I had to marshal mine and his cars as there was no marshal there. Didn't need to have a shot at him on a public forum though, just asked that we have a marshal at that point in the future. I was pissed that no one was there but I got over it
I've always taken the attitude that it's up to me to get past. if he gives me a tap he gets one back next time to remind him.
I come from different school of thought perhaps. commercial track racing is a bit more aggressive.
I'm quite happy to let someone past if they are going quicker than me, occasionally you are going to get the odd accidental nerf and if I do I always apologise to the the victim. I think also that it's up to the overtaker to pick their moment to get by safely I was always taught goin' around the outside ain't necessarily your best option
Having said all that if what you say is true and he deliberately took you out he deserves a swift kick up the arse. A bit sad to here that
Any how like I said toy cars mate
Cheer up you old bugger

I know why the rules have not been set because there seems to be a problem in specifying motor RPM, no one wants to make a decision because further investigations are still taking place. I suggested posting the rules with this one thing left out, that was a week ago. my thoughts are to set it at maximum 21000 this is 17% over the STD. SO heres the big question do 80% of the club upgrade there motors to be competive with the other 20% who got a freak motor. or go the other way and make the 20% buy new motors with a more STD RPM.
Now Ive opened the can of worms
BTW this is an independent test result
Scalextric standard “black stripeâ€, Sport (FC-130) 18,000 RPM/12v; tested 20,577-22,300 RPM/12v
I would like to test everyones car just to see were the mean RPM would be, but this requires a club effort Im not sure we are capable of

I didnt mind. But it was in the warm up lap Dave
Shouldnt be that hard to do a survey of all the cars. Jordan has a opto RPM thingy and I have one off E-bay now. Just measure the RPM while your not racing on the night and keep a record. Just need to make sure its always at 12V. Measure 30-50 cars and record the min, max, readings and set a limit accordingly. If we set it at say 22K then this would probably be OK for 95% of the cars. A guess on my part. Cross fingers I should be able to make next Monday night.
cheers
