Pretzel Logic Raceway

Hi everyone, time for some pics of Pretzel Logic Raceway. I've just introduced myself over on the "Welcome Aboard" forum (a few hours ago - 'There's something growing under my house") and am already overwhelmed by the response! Thanks. Don't have a lot of time now, and this is my first attempt to post pics, but here goes. Remember I've only recently got power to the track and haven't started landscaping yet apart from a few ripple strips.

This is the underfloor area of my house after I had landformed it, ready to start building the track. Notice all the cool posts I had to design around? Another requirement I didn't mention was that in the far corner of the space I still wanted to be able to walk under the track, meaning I would need to design some BIG level changes

Heres a quick look at some of the track:

back to the start/finish straight. Her's a shot of the whole track (almost). It's a bit hard to get far back enough to fit it in one shot! (lucky me!)

Thats awesome, great work, love the elevations and looooooong straight!

Cheers

On chips, we have simply too many to create a video-log. As mentioned earlier in this thread, some were dead-on-arrival, some had no brakes, some had a range with the of about 30cm, some when hooked up to a light kit had only rear lights but not front lights (light kit and LEDs worked perfectly when tested with another chip) and so much more.

It's tempting to dust of the old wing car or two for a rip around that track!!!

Cool Name, Cool Track.

I'm a frayed knot. But I had a few mates who went and said they were awesome! But for me, Steely Dan's strongest suit is the INCREDIBLE studio production and musicianship on their later albums like Gaucho, Aja , etc. I might find myself a bit disappointed at a live gig, so am happy to listen to the records!

Cheers,

Damn thats a fast track !

Was the editing done on a Mac computer ? :)

Current out of the box Scaley lap record goes to my Daytona GT40 @ 7.91 secs (by my daughter's boyfriend....grrr!) I can only get to 7.92 with the same car!

A typical hot lap for a scaley is about 8.5 secs

Womps doing about 6.5, Flexis about 5.00, and Wingcars too fast to see!

Yes, Lavenlaar, using iMovie HD. Cool, huh? (and easy to use - mad Macs!).

So when do we get an invite?????

ahh, patience my children...

As you might see from the pics, I've still got a lot of work to do before Pretzel is open. The 'floor' is dirt (what you would normally find under a house) and it's a problem keeping the track clean (especially when my little black dog Tommy goes berserk chasing the cars around, kicking up a scale duststorm). So first I have to get some astroturf or something similar to spread everywhere and keep the dirt in check. Then a bit of a clean up (as you can also see it looks a lot like an under the house, with its accompanying junk!). Then get the fridge down (...these pretzels are making me thirsty!)

Am also currently ridiculously behind with work (hmm...I wonder if the track has something to do with that?), so may take some time to get to these finishing stages...not to mention properly sorting the lap counter (more on that soon) and doing some landscaping.

I live in the Blue Mountains, near Katoomba, about 100k west of Sydney. More pics coming...

B) cheers

Can you be a bit more specific when you say near Katoomba. I'm in Glenmore Park, Vinno is at Emu Heights, Slots is at Bligh Park (Windsor) Boslot at Colyton. There's a whole bunch of us out this way.

By the way, awesome track.

Slots is at Bligh Park? I used to live there until I moved last January out to Mudgee. It's a small world.

But, I digress. Love the look of the track, and the name is simply awesome.

Correct. It makes it all very solid and stable.

thanks!

Would this form a thick enough 'crust' to walk on?

...sounds expensive and I'm now broke
