Yep the way I read any sports car but it won't be the quickest that wins Steve.

hehehe if ya look at the results Im usually not the quickest , I think I need to change my pre race diet from Cabbage n Beans to something a bit less binding , The current diet can help if Im running slow as I can usually make the other competitors eyes water - a quick blast from the rear of field you could say . hehehe
PS. Hoffys gas readings have been fairly high lately as well !

I wasn't implying that at all Steve, Just that you don't need a really fast car. The winner will be the one who can lap at the the same pace the most consistently.
as for south city's contribution to global warming I think I shall refrain from comment -_-

As Lenny was inferring...
Six pines event is you against yourself. Bring any car so long as it had a back seat ( sedan).... as a show room seller.

YOU have everything to lose!!!!

P.S. Pith and wind won't win a race!!!!!!!!!!

Gents,

The event is for any non open wheel type car. Can be a sports car of any description. Can be a sedan of any description.

The idea of the night is to lap consistantly.

OK, the first heat will be over 2 minutes. This is sort of a qualifying heat. At the end, we will record the average lap time of each lane & the average lap time of each drivers race. (This is worked out by the time of the heat in seconds divided by the lap score (including decimals), to give a grand average lap time.

THEN, each driver is to nominate an average lap time that they will do for the rest of the night. This average lap time CAN be the average lap time of the qualifying heat or YOU CAN suggest your own average lap time (lets say you have a crap qualifying race & your average lap time works out to be 6 seconds. You know you can lap at 5.5 seconds consistantly, so you can nominate 5.5 seconds as your lap time).

We then run the race. Your total average lap time for all lanes is then worked out & is compared to the average time that you have nominated. If they are exact, you get 0 points. For each .01 secs off your average lap time (either faster or slower, doesn't matter), you will score 1 point. The driver with the least amount of points is the winner. In the case of a draw, the person with the more laps will be the winner (or place in front)

Got it? There will be an exam on Monday night!!!

Sounds like some fun tonight , Im in race preparation mode , cabbage n beans breakfast , brussel sprouts n offal stew for lunch , and maybe some boiled spuds and pork before I head off to Hoffy's place. I think it could be foggy at the 6 Pines tonight. hehehehehe ;)

Howdy
Thanks to Hoffy for putting on last nights racing. It made you think about how you would run your race.
Well done to Triggy for his win. It was fun running laps together without worrying about being nerfed off, though it felt odd feathering the throttle halfway up the straight so as to maintain the nominated average.
Cheers Alan

It was an intersting concept. While there was a little luck and guesstimation to " pace" your laps I think it would be more interesting if we didn't know our average lap time after each lane 'cos that caused some to slow down, others to speed up etc, and like Hoffy I also looked at the screen part way through a race to see how I was "pacing", which I don't think should be the way this is run. We don't know our times for the first heat until all is run, so I would like to see it the same for the second where all 4 lanes are run then your times made public, then it is more about how you "feel" the pace is going than doing the maths each lane.

I'm still taking the win though!! :whip2:  ;) It might be the only one I get!!

I'm glad you could see the screen to check your times, triggy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :whip2: the screen is just a blur of colour to me.

I fitted a screw on the scaly handcontrol so that my 2 year old can only press it down 1/4 of the travel. Would have loved to have used it on the night. I gather speed was not the winning formula but rather how close you were to a nominated time?

Exactly right Rick. You had to get as close to your nominated average lap time. Closest one won. And I won without that screw in my controller... Hang on I better go check... I thought I took it out :)

To make it fairer you should nominate a time but then you should not be able to look at the screen to pace yourself. Sounds like a neat way of racing and something a little different. Everyone has a chance of winning. Like bracket drag racing.

When are the rules going to be circulated?

Hopefully the draft rules will be posted for comment on our website in the next few days. Others have been asking the same question.
