Thanks for setting up this thread. Though I'm not really a South City Member I do really enjoy racing with you guys on the Friday night races and the proxy races. I must get down there for a Monday night race or two but racing on Tuesdays with T bird and going out on the Monday night as well might be stretching the marital bliss thing a bit.
I look forward to seeing more involvement on the forum from you Guys.
Cheers Alan

Will we have the latest programme before June 18th? If possible can the programme include the class of cars to be raced on each night? ( saves me bringing all my cars out ).
It would also be interesting to post results of each class from each Monday night (outside of championship nights ) for curiosity value and to know which of your own cars perform well on whose track.

Great to see some action on the web site.
I agree some track info is probably the first thing to change. Removing Adams and Wades track and adding in the new ones.
I know Wade is still around but as he has not attended any meetings for some time I think its time to let him go.
Keep up the Good work
PS you have plenty off time say 1 week sould be enough

I also noticed that the 2007 results are only provisional and not final. Is it too late to lodge a protest against Steve on the grounds that he is a far better driver than me and should therefore be excluded from the results?
cheers

Rick,
the times from this years championship would need to be analised to come up with an accurate capped figure, therefore making it fair.
However, I was happy with the set up this year, where if someone was quicker than you , then you had to improve your own skills. If someone can do a quick lap in a club championship car then the car could obviously go that quick, so as a driver you needed to get the pace out of the car, because it was possible.
Having said all that, Steve is a class driver and a hard man to beat, if he can go that fast then so should we.....
back to the track for more practice

Dont forget, due to the Public Holiday, officially we are having Monday night off this week. Keryn has said though, that if people would like to come around to his place they can have a bit of a casual session.
Please also remember that the next official race is at my place on Monday the 18th, for the 2nd annual Candy 500 race for Indycars (or late model open wheelers if you dont have one!!)

Just a reminder, Monday night is the Candy 500 at my track, Six Pines, for open wheelers (Indy/Champcars preferred, but if you dont have one a F1 will get you by).
For something different, there will be a qualifying session, but with a twist. Just like in the real thing (the Indy 500), you can attempt to qualify more then one car. Obviously, if you attempt to qualify a different car, the higher finishing car will be the one that you have to race...Complicated enough for you? It will become apparent on the night!!
See you all there

Who won the Candy 500 last night and what were the qualifying results.
We lost volleyball last night so all in all a really average Monday night for me.

Rick,
To save him the embarrassment, I will tell you.
1st Hoffy ( home track advantage!! )
2nd Steve
3rd Wayne
Fastest Qualifier: Blake ( finished 4th )
I can't remember the time differences. It was a timed event where every driver ran 35 laps on each lane, then your times for each lane aggregated.
It was a great night on fast track, the bank is certainly fast
Qualifying was interesting. Everyone ran 3 laps on blue lane solo. We had the opportunity to better that time in a second run, however, if you took a second run then your first time was scubbed. The first 3 drivers on their second run fell off, too much pressure, and recorded slower times. Only 3 of the 10 drivers that had a second run , bettered their first time!
Qualifying didn't count for anything come race time, just a bit of fun, but will next year for Candy 500 III.

The first time was the time kept for qualifying. The other time in brackets was the time that was scrubbed:
Blake - 18.357 (19.650)
Ashley - 18.922 (20.082)
Steve - 19.124 (18.152)
Wayne - 19.425 (19.407)
Matt - 19.568 (21.248)
Brett - 19.788 (19.976)
Kane - 20.036 (18.875)
Damo - 20.574 (18.872)
Dave - 20.669 (19.137)
Shannon - 21.103 (23.487)
Ken - 25.203
Ken was the only one to attempt the qualifying once.
& the final results:
Yay for me!!!
