We had a good turn up at the test & tune we clean down the track, did some ajustments to the track, check the timers & laid down some rubber for the four round. Main event is NINCO CLASSIC non mag & two support races OPEN SEDANS & OPEN PRE 72 CLASS all 1/32 ( flys , ninco , scx, scalextric). The track is runnig good for the race & my cars are well set up .

At least I managed a highscore while you guys were practicing.
I gave up trying to get a slot.it v12 to work in a scaley vectra, too much power to the wheels no matter what i tried. Was an exercise in frustration.
I shook another box and played with a new Scalex Sports ed Merc. The chassis flexes a little too easily near the engine pod but it seems to work. I must be lucky because the Sports versions seem easy to make smooth compared with standard crystal-case versions. Standard tyres are terrific, lots of grip on Scalex Sport and Classic track. I'd love to know the truth about Sports version motors, they cars seem to have better braking - might be the better running gear though. With only a little breaking in, popped out the magnut & added just a little weight, front tyre grind, usual scalex guide tweaks, its very nice on my track, smooth and stable in the tech bits. I leave the steering spring in, it seems to dampen oversteer. I just need a lightweight interior - may use the std one, its pretty light itself. Willmot is always a different kettle of fish though.
Now to sort out the Chevron...

Glenn
Dave and Joe recently did a comparison with an RPM tester and found no difference. Another surprising result they found was that the motors with lower overall RPM's were stronger in the car. Probably due to the lower the RPM the higher the torque.
You may also be interested to know that after a bit of running last night the track became very grippy and some cars started to hop through the corners. The cars that started off grippy such as my Pirtek Falcon became slower as I couldn't get through the corners as fast. It will be back to Slotit tyres now as they are better in grippy conditions. If the weather stays humid you may find scalextric tyres will work well as they will pick up a bit of grip. While it is looking like rain the temp is staying higher and creating a more tacky track.
Graeme is looking very fast as usual.
