We had our second round for the year two weeks ago but I have been too busy to post a report till now.

This round was at Bo's Colyton routed track Where we had our first round of the Aussie V8 host cars, Scalextric Trans Ams and Open Sports.


A couple of pictures of the V8's for this years host series. As usual with host classes the racing is close. We also had a couple of new racers with Nigel and John racing with the group for the first time. Both are experienced and competitive racers with Nigel having a couple of other runs previously proving himself quite quick. We started out with fourteen racers for the night which was almost too many for the amount of classes we run.


The V8 heats were two minutes with the overall placings being:
1st Dave 59.35 laps
2nd Vince 59.20 laps
3rd Joe 59.10 laps
4th Nigel 58.65 laps
5th Jamie 58.30 laps
6th John 57.60 laps
7th Charlie 57.30 laps
then Daniel, Bo, Al, Chris, Cameron, Damien and Greg.


Scalextric Trans Ams were next and here Charlie starts well in yellow with Joe right behind, Nigel and Al following up behind.


Joe just gets away from the usually fast off the line Bo with Daniel and Cameron in the Mustangs behind.


daniel leads Bo, Charlie and Chris into turn three.


Paul follows Al into turn two. Results for the night in Trans Ams were:
1st Vince 58.20 laps courtesy of a fastest lap.
2nd Joe 58.20 laps
3rd Dave 58.05 laps
4th Jamie 57.60 laps
5th Charlie 57.10 laps
6th Nigel 56.75 laps
7th Chris 56.20 laps courtesy of a faster lap than Paul
then came Paul, Al, Bo, Greg, Damien, Cameron.


Don't try rounding up Joe around the outside. Here he is lining up for the back straight.


Jamie leads Daves standard Ninco Supra with Chris and cameron following close behind.


Charlie Toyota GT1 crowds Greg with Al inside and Cameron trying out the Celica which is too powerful and unpredictable on a home track.


Jamie leads Bo out of the squeeze both sliding nicely. Results were:
1st Joe 97.20 laps
2nd Dave 96.75 laps
3rd Vince 96.25 laps
4th Jamie 95.20 laps
5th Bo 93.90 laps
6th Chris 92.95 laps
7th Charlie 92.90 laps
then came Al, Daniel, Greg, Damien, Cameron and Paul.

Well Bo maybe you better get rid of this one which was only really a practice go and start on a 6 or 8 laner

Dave, Vince and Joe all finished either 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

Good question Dave,

After a quick analysis of the results here is what I came up with.
Firstly some records for Bo's Track.

Host V8's
Fastest Lap - 7.67 Jamie in White
Furthest Distance (2 min) - 15.40 Jamie in White

Transam
Fastest Lap - 7.77 Vince in Yellow - Mustang
Furthest Distance (2 min) - 15.25 Vince in Yellow - Mustang

Open Sports
Fastest Lap - 6.92 Joe in White - Proslot Toyota
Furthest Distance (3 min) - 24.80 Joe in Yellow - Proslot Toyota

Joe, Dave and Vince each got a group win as well as a 2nd and 3rd.
Overall Joe went the furthest so I suppose he is the winner on the night, but to tell you the truth we don't really keep track, every month is a new chance to have some more good close racing.

Joe 59.1 + 58.20 + 97.20 = 214.50
Dave 59.35 + 58.05 + 96.75 = 214.15
Vince 59.2 + 58.20 + 96.25 = 213.65
