Sports Racer
Welcome to the forum. With a track like that I would have been bragging about it even before it was built. I've drooled over it since I saw pictures on the Archer Raceway site. How often do you have races and are they open for anyone to attend? With the M7 now open you're only 30 min away (and that works both ways just in case you want to come and race with us this Saturday night). Cheers Paul Quote May the downforce be with you. gazza
We race every second saturday alternating between my place and Craig's at Minto, he's also on the Archer Raceway site, and has a three section (so far) rally track. And a newly compleated three lane road curcuit. Any one interested we would be glad to have you come along and have a look and or race. gazza
We run SCX 4wd rally cars on the rally track, you can run any make you want but we've found the scx cars the best The road track mostly Stangs, Vetts ,Nascar,LeMans and home built sports sedans ,gone off F1,all 32nd I run the SRM timming system and have not had a problem with it in the in the past 5 years I even have a 16 mtr drag strip(that needs a lot of gleaning) that we use from time to time, weather permiting Quote Quickly read this post before it is deleted or i turn grey again Gary http://www.facebook.com/Rallyproxy2017
Sports Racer
Any chance of getting some pictures of the home built sports sedans? What mods do you allow for your cars? Quote May the downforce be with you.
Sports Racer
And what time do you race? Quote May the downforce be with you.
gazza
We start racing around 2 and finnish whenever (11-12 is the norm) We've been into rally in a big way over the last three years, just running that all night. Now we're thinking of running a shorter rally then over to the road track for Sedans,LeMans or whatever. The sports sedans are home built from plastic kits and have big flaired guards, big wings, big spoilers, big tyres (foam) and big motors (fox) 1/8 axles and running gear. No interior (no room) just black out the glass and get it as low to the ground as possible. The DB5 is an Arfix 32nd Kit As you can see they've all had a hard life.....but there's plenty more to take over. Sports Racer
Damn, I'd love to race against those sports sedans. Love big motored/tyred cars. What sort of times do they pull against the RTR 32nd scale cars? You race every 2nd Saturday, got to pull my finger out and try to get to the one on the 18th. gazza
On the 25mtr road track the scalextric stangs and vettes lap at around 10 sec a lap the sports sedans are in the low 7's. They are a handfull but they are great fun. Gary. Sports Racer
Yeah, my Vette is that slow too. Just kidding. Sounds like I'm going to have to build up something pretty awesome to be able to run with you guys. I'll get there one day. Quote May the downforce be with you. Vinno
Well a few of us finally made the treck across to Gary's house last night and all I can say is why did I wait so long. I now have two saturday nights a month pencilled in and probable trouble from the misses. Thanks for the invite Gary. It was a great night and the first time Bo and myself have driven on a rally specific track. Memories are Bo's NC5 Clio flying off the track over the jump when he gave it a finger full. It was tricky to get right but we did get there in the end and all drove well. The format was five timed laps per driver and we had two cars per round each. We ran three rounds all up. I think Gary was quickest with Devious Dave proving that the Ninco Subaru's with NC1's are probably the car to drive. Next time will see some more Ninco cars filling the field along with the ever consistent SCX cars. Thanks again Gary.
gazza
No problem Vince And as we said on the night ..... it's only a matter of finding the right car and setup and then your on the money Again another great night,we will be giving Craig's 40mtr track a run on the 8th of July so you can get used to it. Then we can get into some serious rallying Gary (bring the camera next time) link to craig's track http://www.auslot.co...?showtopic=2537 Quote Quickly read this post before it is deleted or i turn grey again Gary http://www.facebook.com/Rallyproxy2017
gazza
Another extention to the rally track is under way After we ran here on the 27th it got a bit cramped so i've moved the rally track out to the side shed. But as the track has to be layed out in a "L" shape So i've had to build another addon. Vinno
Lookin good Gary. Only problem is that you have moved to the cold shed and the weather is getting colder.
gazza
Once we get a few bods in there we can get into a heated debate over marshalling and it'll warm up pretty quick. .... I was showing my better half the mods i was doing and her responce was "well at least it hasn't gotten out of hand yet" which came as a big suprise to me as i thought it had. So it looks like i'll just have to keep building Gary Quote Quickly read this post before it is deleted or i turn grey again Gary http://www.facebook.com/Rallyproxy2017
Vinno
Maybe out of hand is moving the track indoors where it's warmer. Do you think she will allow that? But you are right, the heated marshalling debate will warm it up a touch.
