Scalextric Ferrari 330

Wobble

Recommended Posts

I've got 4 of these sitting in the drawer not being used and 1 had a broken guide holder and pre 80's Lemans 18k was on the agenda for racing the other night.

So I fixed the guide issue and hacked the chassis and it runs smooth and sweet.

I also added some Paul Gage tyres but it's down on traction so I'd like to find something similar to NSR Ultragrips that will fit the standard hubs if anyone has any suggestions.

So if I've got it somewhere near right - you've almost made it a motor pod with longitudinal cuts through the chassis?

Yep, that's just the weight of the motor and axle assembly causing the sag but I think I need to glue a bit of styrene behind the axle to limit it.

Also, I've left the prongs in above the rear bushes so that the body can't sag down to rub on the tyres.

I'm tempted to try the same thing on another car but with the cuts directly to the holes in the magnet pocket.
