A Few Tracks I Have Built Recently

First one was something to play with in between the real tracks.

Then after I sold my old track I needed a replacement one, what do you think of this one?

And then a club friend decided he needed a track as well.

And then just for fun I built this one and put it up on ebay.

Braid? Yes, but it's getting too hard to find and toooo expensive, and tape works just as well, in my opinion anyway.

To braid a track can cost over $400, and to tape the same track would cost only $12.

Yeah, they are getting to be like riding a bike, easier every time.

I find that once you get into a rythem, it all falls into place.

I haven't had any problems with the tape, and it's easy and cost effective.

It's all finnished and Ross picked it up yesturday.

It might look a lot like the one that went to Melbourne, but it is subtlely different.

I tried a few new build styles on this one, and it makes for a much neeter fit and finish.

Once again, very nice there Andrew...

Is that the same layout as Alvaro's but with the bridge the other way?? Looks better that way to me...

Also, looks like you made a 2 lane track and then changed your mind and made Ross a 3 lane one instead...

Yeah Michael, I like to test my build ideas on the smaller tracks, and then use what I learn on the bigger ones.

Ross wanted a bigger track to start with, can't have a decent race on 2 lanes now can you?

That 2 laner is going cheap, get in quick before it's gone ;)

Been at it again, this one was designed by a guy in Orange.

He wanted to run HO scale cars with slide guides fitted, and 1/32nd on the 2 outer lanes. But he changed his mind 3/4 of the way through the build. Now I have to build him anouther track specifically for 1/32nd, so this one will be up for sale to recoupe the build costs.

The lanes are 40mm apart and the outer and inner are 50mm, lane length is 16m.

Track is 3m x 1.8m, ferrodore and copper tape, wired as per commercial tracks.

The inner corner has a squeeze to make life interesting

Bit different to your usual stuff, and once again, nicely done.

Good luck with the sale.

Not much interest in this one just yet, but that hasn't stopped me from making a few more.

I'm up to No:15 now, it seems the new slot centre in Penrith is getting a few people interested in racing again, and I'm building tracks to keep them happy.

My 3.6m x 1.8m 3 lane tracks seem to be quite popular.

Oh well back to the shed, I have another track to build.

I've been busy working on a track for a guy in Sydney.

Do you think it will be big enough?

I still have to fit the braid and wire it up, then I can get a few mates over for a few laps.

I mean, I have to test it before I can give it the all clear for the new owner to pick it up, don't I??
