NZ/North Island slotties may be interested to know we had our inaugural get together Saturday. 5 guys including brother Paul and self. There are at least 2-3 others around but we need to get a little better established before going too far.

Current tracks are a bit limited but good things are in sight.

1. Currently 2 lane Scalextric about 21m but with 5.6x2m wooden track due to start soon I hope.
2. 2 lane Scalextric about 15m and likely to stay that way. Small room not really suitable for larger groups.
3. 3 lane wooden track about to start. Rex earlier had a 4 lane wooden track but demolished as he took a year off to build house.
4. Ready to build 2 lane digital Scalextric track about 4.8x2.4. Will have one of new 6 car power bases so expects to be able to race digital and analogue.
5. 2 lane Ninco but going to rebuild as 4 lane.

As some of you will know my brother and I are into Slot-it and keen to race competitively whenever we can. Of other one currently races mainly Nascar but has some other interesting machines (includes one unmade Group C Slot-it) and races non-magnet. Another is currently entirely Aussie V8's magnet but really loved the Nascars and appears keen to compete at next RTR Nationals and perhaps even Enduro. Last member has quite a selection of Fly and HRS Slot-it based cars all magnet but currently centered around keeping his kids occupied.

We initially hope to meet about once a month but will immediately arrange a group email system to keep in touch. This will enable builders to get into gear. Already there is quite a bit of advice flowing. Paul and I would hope to get us all geared up for Group C and Nascar initially so we can get a racing program going and at that stage race about every 2 weeks.

Hope this is of interest. Has taken a while although we have been in contact previously on and off for sometime.

Ta Mike.

Hoping we might pull in one xtra Taranaki person for Enduro but really concentrating on RTR Nationals. Would prefer to get others to advance their track building and class car purchase so we can get into some good local racing.

The terrible twins however will be there. We are not twins of course but Chris asked if we were so I do not mind playing on this theme.
