Slot-it Porsche 956 And 962 Comparison

Have been comparing different models of Slot-it Porsche.
Note original 956C and 956KH are very similar except for tail/wing and rear end treatment.
Comparing a 962C however it has a shorter nose although I think guide is in same position in relation to the front axle but longer tail. More than that however I note the wheelbase is also slightly longer. Probably a couple of mm.
Has anybody noticed this and have you found performance any different. Did type of track impact on same.
Look forward to your comments. Have not had new TIC TAC 962C KH to hand yet but will advise when mine arrives. I am expecting it to be like other 962's.

i have the evo 956 chassis (also universal for 956's) under a scheisser car but with an nsr 20k sw motor. the only thing i know of that is quicker is an nsr mosler with a very good level of tune.
sure the kh variety handles differently to the low drag cars, but really the difference 956 to 962 comes down to the build quality of the individual car, and the emotional attachment to the shape or livery, at least from my point of view.

Going on what Slotjockey said sounds like he is now breaking 5secs on said Napier track and that is just for a stock standard Slot-it. Man that is moving. I do not think I broke 6secs last March at champs but at least I was consistant. Think I ended up about 6th out of 16.
Looking forward to next challenge.

Is correct. Overall the 956 has more admirers as a race car than the 962. I have seen good and bad cars of both the kh and low drag shapes depending entirely on the person who built it. Its a personal preferance between the two body shapes. The evo chassis is supposedly better than the original and i certainly don't doubt that it is. In proxy racing the 956 is the most consistent winner of all the slot.it group c cars and that probably tells you all you need to know.

HI all,
Is there a way i can tell the old chassis and the new evo 6 chassis apart. I recenlty picked up a couple of 956's and 962's (gotta love a stronger aussie dollar) and was wondering if they were the older chassis or the new chassis

There is no Group C car (yet) with an EVO-6 chassis [6 point mount]. (wait for the Mike Thackwell "Michelin" Sauber in November)
The earlier Group C models had a chassis which was not angle-winder (AW) capable, later ones are AW capable, but are all shipped with standard 4 point mount, inline pods, with no offset. From memory, any model released since about the beginning of 2009 at the very least, has had an AW capable chassis. - If you pick up anything without an AW chassis, you're fortunate to get an older, hard to get model, so just spend a few bucks and buy an AW capable chassis to drop under it.
Anyway, you have the cars, just look underneath them, whether they have the small triangular pieces in the chassis which you would remove to fit the AW pod
