The big problem is that the car was repainted severl times here inn Australia and the formulation for Hugger Orange was only for US paint products at the time. So who really knows what colour the car was! Only the guy on the spray gun probably!

Oh well, was just trying to help. It kinda Looks like the Right Colour to my eyes and was always a Fan of almost Any Testors Product, especially their Paints

May I suggest asking these kind of Questions over at the 'Autosport.com forums, or the Atlas F1 bulletin board,..as you will often find THE Person who Built, Owned, Raced or worked on Many of the cars in Question, will be there, or Someone Who actually Does Know the Answers.

Cheers,

I thought Testors were available (aren't they a British company?) it was Tamiya that wasn't.

Testors is a US company. It may only be the spray packs that are not available in the UK. I think it is some thing to do with the propellants why some of these paints are not available.

I finished the car today. The colour I selected for the car was Rover Vermillion. I think it looks pretty much like the original colour of the car when it was imported from the States.

The shell of the car is from the Hornby kit and it is mated to a Slot.it HRS2 chassis, which meant I could get the car pretty low. I had to make a new front spoiler to clear the track!. The interior is a half shelf item from RMS, with a "Classsic" drivers head and a rollcage assembled from the parts box.
Motor is a Scalextric 25K "orange can", all running gear is Slot.it, wheels are from Penelope Pitlane with the Hornby kit wheels cut down as inserts. Tyres are Hornby on the front with Ortman "New Compound" on the rears. Decals are Hornby and Bruce Patterson's excellent new formula waterslides.

Next car in my meagre collection of Aussie Touring cars has to be this one:-

Don't know anything about the driver, Jim Richards I think, but the car is fantastic. Phil have you got a resin of this one?...

Regards

Alan

BTW Jim Richards was a multiple Australian Touring car championship winner and won the Bathurst 1000 7 times before 'retiring'. After that he's gone on to and win Targa Tasmaina a heap of times and racing Historic touring cars and Porshe Carrera cup.

Good work Alan, turned out very well. I have been trying to get my hands on one of Georges Falcon Sprint bodies for some time after I saw Dave's build BUT cannot seem to get any response from George about payment. I have just finished a mould of Beechy's Monaro though!

Hey Phil,

I got a response from Dave about the Falcon sprint. The price turned me off a little & I have to many projects anyway. I also dont think they are finished yet. Ill forward you his email.

Alan lovin the Camaro, nice job. If you are getting a monaro from Phil you may as well get a Charger at the same time. Stubbo has a nice selection of decals for Phils line of Aussie cars. Ive built a monaro a a few chargers, they will be in the scratchbuild section somewhere. As a matter of fact Im working on another charger atm. The Chivas/Beck #15.

Thanks
