I've got an NC - 1 in my car currently, but want to put an NC - 8 in it. I have the motor, but it doesn't fit due to the NC - 1 being different. Do I need to buy a completely new pod for it 8 or will the adaptor for NC-2 work?

The late model Ferrari kits come with an adapter to fit the NC8,but I don't think it is available as a spare part. Why do you want to change,I have found the NC1 to be a far better motor than the NC8.
The NC2 adapter is wrong for this conversion.

I am now using the BWA NC1 and have found them much cheaper and they go marginally better than the Ninco's.

The NC8's are good in Ninco Classics where the NC2 or NC5 was fitted as they don't foul the interior and allow better body float and have a slightly lower centre of gravity. The Ninco Cobra is one car that comes to mind. I have found them pretty much on par with NC1's. Our group is pretty particular about allowing motors in that make another obsolete so we usually test a bit before allowing rule changes.
As for replacing an NC1 with an 8 I would agree with Gazza and Phil.
