After buying one of these babies from my local slot shop, houston we have a problem. After truing a couple of scalextric rear ends, i noticed a reocurring problem. Each of these rear ends chewed away a large amount of rubber from the right had tyer. Thought this was odd, so i took a few measurements, 0.3 mm difference between the left and right tyer on all three. After checking over the equipment i notice as the axel carrier was screwed down, it didnt come downevenly. IE a little bit on the right and then a little bit on the left???? Contacted the Area3 through their website and made a complaint, Saturday Night. Come sunday mourning there was an email replay with several time on how the problem might be corrected. Tried and failed to correct the fault. Peter (area3) requested that the unit be returned dirrectly to him for repaire. Four day later I had a the truer back in my hands, with parts replaced for new items and a whole bunch of additional spare parts for my trouble. Tried again to grind a scalextric back end, great sucess. Unit worked as i would expect. Measured results again, perfect. Couldnt measure a difference between the twotyer diameters using a veriner.
Long story short, a Australian product, backed with the highest level of after sales service. Highly recomended.

This is very heartening to hear....even though I use a hudy.
It is always nice to hear about someone in business with some humanity rather than just being a dollar grabber.
We are lucky in the world of slots....there are some great people worldwide who think customer needs are important.
I could name a few others, some close by and others who are further away.
regards
John Warren

Please feel free to name them - I'd rather buy stuff from someone with good service, that then keeps them in business ...
Cheers

Mario have a look for slop between the verticle pins and the red axelcarrier. There should be virtually no sideways movement at all. Also check that the black piece above the axel carrier is perfectly horizontal. IE there should be no air gap between the red axel carrier and the black part when the screw is backed off. But if you have the slop - contact peter at AREA3.

Hello Guys
Pete here from AREA3
Chris had a unique problem with his machine in that his axle carrier had a major problem in that the holes were machined oversize. This was easily diagnosed as the red axle carrier could be moved about 2mm when held on the sides and twisted
Most of the time the machine can be tuned by simply checking the alignment of the top plate where the thumbscrew is.
I have made a video which can be veiwed on my website 5th video down
If you try this and still have issues then by all means contact me directly via our website.
Regards
Pete
