Hi All

The cars are here safe and sound and the process of running stage 2 will commence.

First up some details.

Track
- wood with braid
- low sheen enamel
- approx 18m
- 11 volts (why will become clear, it is a fast open circuit and anymore volts gets to hard to drive)
- Lap times - to give you an idea the following lap times are possible
well set up trans am car, or fly classic ~ 5.1sec
well set up slotit ~ 4.8sec
OTB NSR ~ 4.5sec
lap record 4.2sec (NSR Mosler, b...dy Smallnails)

Posted Image

Start at the light bridge and head down the main straight to turn 1.

Posted Image

Hit turn one then head up the wiggle to turn 2.

Posted Image

Go round turn 2 and head along the sweeper (turn 3) towards the bowl (turn 4).

Posted Image

Go round turn 4 (the bowl) dropping into a short straight under the bridge and into turn 5.

Posted Image

Out of turn 5 and along the main straight under the light bridge to do it all again!

Running the cars later tonight or tomorrow night, qualifying on friday night, and racing on sunday afternoon.

Good luck racers!

Gee I only have to look at the track to know who helped with the design as well as the construction! Big fast open corners.

carnage seems inevitable! very fast flowing track by the looks of it, should suit the LMP's well.

Love the track as long as there is grip i think this may be a track for the cars with a bit of motor and as mine has a powerful donk i am looking forward to it immensely. Mannimals sxxx powered projectile should go well here to.

Carnage is actually not guaranteed!

Most races we have there are fairly incident free.............unless of course we are actually trying to punt people off purposefully!

Ran the cars tonight and it's going to be an interesting round.

Cars with good grip levels handled the sweeper pretty well, but cars with too much power and/or dodgy grip levels tended to tail out late in the sweeper meaning lap times were lowered.

Overall, cars with motors similiar to the orange endbell handled the sweeper better. There was around 1 sec lap time difference between the fastest and slowest cars.

Qualifying on friday night.

Qualifying has been run and won, er well, it was 5 laps for each car with it's fastest lap recorded as the qualifying lap.

Overall:
Some cars had real trouble on the sweeper, generally the hotter engined cars.
Light cars that couldn't carry speed on the sweeper tended to be more difficult on all the other corners.
A quick lap time won't mean favourtism for the race, controlability will.

Results (only top three in order)

FCC - 4.37 - Wow it's fast, but needs to be driven conservatively to stay on!
Newso - 4.51 - Quick and consistent to drive, should push for the podium.
Manimmal - 4.56 - Great quick car, hangs on thruogh the sweeper and tight in the corners.
Ronan - 5.1 - Stable runner, could do with a little more punch.
Lenny Broke - 4.81 - Good stable car. Nice.
Davenic74 - 4.87 - Quick, very light, breaks out when pushed on the sweeper.
Tazracer - 4.72 - Was built on this track, but is taily on sweeper when driven hard.
Dan S - 5.29 - Struggled with sweeper (too light in rear end), down on power a bit.
BRK - 4.84 - Quick car, can be controlled on sweeper at 3/4 power.
Mark D - 4.97 - Not the quickest car on the grid, but easy to drive.
Hoffy - 5.17 - Not the fastest, the back end flayed around but it stays on for consistent lap times.
PMC356 - 4.87 - Quick car, have to work really hatd to get good lap time, very loose rear.
gzminz - 5.0 - Could be quicker, but is consistent even though a bit taily.
Antony - 4.85 - Consistent, but power needs to be put on steady or rear breaks out.
Suttle - 4.74 - Deceptive, felt slow and sluggish, but what a time.
Slittlehales - 4.61 - Consistent easy drive, good speed carried out of sweeper and thruogh bowel.
Obsidith - 4.84 - Thruogh all the noise and rattles, a good consistent drive.
XR8 - 5.57 - Good looking car but wanted to drive out of slot.
Sports Racer - 4.82 - Another noisy car, but good consistent drive.

Racing will be tomorrow arvo and results will go up tomorrow night preced by posting of an independent concourse judging.

Good luck gentlemen!

Kinda disappointed but my first proxy. Any reason so slow? Reckon my gear choice makes it more suited to tracks that arent as fast.

gzminz - slow because of motor i think, and it shows out more on a flowing open track like this.

obsidith - nothing loose, just one of those cars that lets you know it's on the track.

Bad news guys, a couple of drivers have had to pull out from running today due to family comitments.

Race will likely to be run tomorrow as originally planned (after I've shored up drivers and marshals) or monday evening.

Sorry to muck anyone around.

Hoffy, your car car hung in there even though the tail was whipping around, but i think it would be better on a tighter track not carrying so much speed in the corners.

Rocket yes. Winner of a round??? My car last year was a bullet to and won a couple of poles before the chassis broke and slowed it up some. Fast as it was it never won a round but was consistently quick. Here is something weird i put in a new chassis and as yet haven't been able to get the car to go as well as it did previously. (go figure slot cars)I am hoping for at least one round win this year.
I used to Drink too much. I still do but i used to to.

LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!

Racing starts in about 15 minutes - drivers have been briefed and marshalls readied.

Will post a concourse result before the results (gives me time to check and get into system)
