Hi folks,

sorry for being a total newbie, but i've only just got back in to the scaleys.

I've started with a very basic Sport track (already building on it), but have noticed that the power supply seems to fade a bit with real heavy use with 2 cars running. The sport power base has 2 power inputs. Does it really make a difference buying a standard power pack and using the available input (i have one lined up for very cheap)? Or should i go a totally different aftermarket 3rd party power pack (not really inclined to do so as i'm not going that crazy yet!)?

any help is appreciated!

G'day Timtulip

If you need to replace your power supply then don't waste your time with another power pack. Just bit the bullet and buy a variable voltage power supply. You can then change the voltage to suit which ever car you want to race.

Something like this one from Dick Smith would do. It is 0-30 volts with up to 2.5 amps and digital meters. I use the same power supply for my 18 metre long scaley sport rally track and it has been working fine for over 5 years.

Why race on any old figure 8 track when you could be racing on a track designed to replicate a piece of Australian motorsport history like Oran Park Raceway.
