Hi Guys,

I know this (to some) is a relatively easy fix,but could someone direct me to a "tutorial" on fitting brake pods to Parma type controllers?

Are there diferent "sizes" in the brake pods and what size fits what?

Is bigger better?

Sorry to ask these dumb a***d questions, someone with my amount of years in slots should know this!

Thanks for any help(in advance).

Terry

Hi Terry,

Below is a pic of my controller the red wire is from the brake end of the controller's resistor the other wire is down to the three pin plug.

As you can see its a 5 ohm poteniometer I got from Jaycar its bloody big but hey it works.

Cut the red wire half way down the lead and insert a rotary switch. I bought one from Jaycar, 12 position. Wire from controller goes to centre pin of switch.. Then daisy chain one 1n4004 diode in position one followed by 5 or 6 one ohm resistors. Position one bypasses everything, position 2 is through the diode, position 2 is diode +one ohm etc. Make sure the diode is mounted correctly. The cathode end is towards the controller and the anode (end with the band) is pointing towards your plug. I find this combo works well as the diode allows low speed roll on into corners and you can fine tune the high speed braking. If you need a lot of brake ajustment I suspect that your gear ratio is way off.
