Help please if possible.

I want to build a start light gantry with flashing leds that change from red to yellow then green on go. I run trackmate (windows version) and would not only like them operating for the start sequence, and also green during the race and yellow between heats and under track call conditions.

Anyone got any ideas or leads. :)

Does trackmate generate all those different signals for those diffrent track conditions? If so its easy to "gate" all the LEDs to do what you want. If trackmate does not generate those on/off signals then as they say in the classics "your dreaming".
cheers

With the help of som or gates an flip flops you could set it up without the software having it built it

Whats generating the signals to tell the LEDs to go on or off??

Im assuming Taz wants a start line sequence that goes Yellow Red Green (for go). Then during the race he wants the green LED to toggle every time a car goes part the bridge so as to register a visual check that a car has completed a lap. Then for track calls the Yellow LEDS come on. Or have I mis understood what you want??

Try Slot Race Manager ,Mario has redone the program and you may find what you are looking for with that.

Not with the current version. All he could do is have a green light from the relay,of build a staged timing delay between the interface and relay.

Can't you hear the audio count down over Brad's noise?? Is so you just need bigger speakers!

Ultimate Racer will also allow 'start sequence':

The LOTS racing club all use Trakmate!
I have been thinking about this and you could add a light operated from the track call button,so that is Green and one yellow that could be done. But still need to rely on Video display and Audio for the start sequence.

Yes, like Phil says, two colour is easy if you use a relay for track power. What you do is add another light-weight 12V DC relay which (like most) has terminals that are live on one of two outputs - basically a DPDT (double pole double throw switch), so that when track power is "off", the relay switching the LEDs will power some red or yellow LEDs, but when the timing software livens up the track, that same power source will trip the second relay which switches off power from the red or yellow LEDs, and gives power to a bank of green LEDs.

Dead easy - says the guy who hasn't even gotten around to hooking up the track power relay to his own track after 2 years
(my excuse is that the entire underside of my track is full of slotty stuff, jammed solid)

And as Rick says, the only way you'll get 3 LED colours in sequence, is if the timing software can drive some board/relays to do that for you in sequence.

My brain works slow these days.

Two timers or timer circuit will do what you want.
Timer No1 is operated from the Interface with a delay to operate timer No.2 this timers output operates the track power relay.
Timer one has the yellow led connected to its output, timer 3 or Track power relay has the Green attached to either of them.
The track call would still require a latching relay on it for the yellows.

These timers could be either som ething like LM322 built up on a single board, a jaycar timer kit or just two 12v industrial timer/relays.

All a bit messy BUT possible.
