Round 1 is set to run at 6pm this Saturday at Mobile Raceways in Dandenong. The cars are going to be raced sans qualifying for round 1 however i did run some laps on my track for notes. If it isn't listed here it was unremarkable (to my untrained hand)

Obsidith - Little taily, seems to pitch going into turns
FCC - Quite taily, seems to lack brakes
lenny broke - stable and punchy which brings the tail around
Anthony - hard for me to drive.
Mannimal - easy to get to the edge, breaks free once you cross.
BRK - pretty quick, easy to drive.
pmc - too much motor for my track, will do well at the commercial tracks.
ronan - noisy, gear doesn't seem to be meshing well.
Davinic - lots of motor but very smooth, great brakes.
hoffy - Easiest and smoothest to drive, watch this one
TazRacer - takes a lot to unsettle it, good zip, weighs a ton
XR8 - underpowered and lots of brakes.

Overall the Slot.it Audi's really loved my track and the longer wheelbase cars did well. I may not be able to make it to round one as my wife has come down with pneumonia but I am arranging for another entrant to be there and oversee the racing.

Thanks for the first impressions, yes the gears are noisy on my Avant Slot, but it was the quickest combination of gears in testing on my track. My rally proxy Ninco Porsche and one of my CanAm proxy cars have noisy gears too, must be something I'm not doing right!

Hi Eric
If the race is being conducted at a commercial facility, who are going to be racing the cars?
I would hope that they will be responsible, experienced drivers and not just any punter off the street.

Yes they will be experienced, many who compete in the nationals (and i believe one holds a title of some sorts).
No punters allowed.

Cheers

sorry, typo, pitch, like when on the brakes into a turn it gets unsettled. Kinda like oversteer in a 1:1

I am by no means a great driver. I can't even say why it was hard for me. It was fast but I couldn't control it. I am probably the weak link rather then the car.

Those slot.it audi's will be hard to beat on my track at least. They are very stable and easy to handle.

Thanks for the comments above gzminiz. I'm kinda enthused that it made the list of worthy of comment (& not for the OTHER reason). Looking forward to the round (but a bit pensive about running on a big commercial track......)

Cheers

Hey all, I apologize but we are have to shuffle things around a little bit due to some technical issues. The Mobile Raceways round is going to be put at the end as the Grand Finale race. David's round will be moved up and instead of tacking a round here at the end we will squish it in after the first round at David's

Again, apologize for the delay

hoffy,
dont think about it,all the cars are all in the same boat.It will make a differance on mobile raceways
with whos driving the cars.Speed on this track is not always everything.Tyre choice not a big
advantage between brands. The drivers keeping it in the slot will have the best results with the cars.
If i could predict the winning car for this round,i'll put money on Davnic74 car.Slot.it anglewinder
set up.
Another thing, the cars will handle 13.8 volts if they run at that.
