I am not sure that the Pacer was repainted, I think it was the standard Valiant Gold/yellow as it left the Factory.

The Shell Yellow was definitely not a factory Pacer colour. Too bright. Ford also had some done up as 'Corporate Cars'. Ford list the Shell Yellow as Y099. And for anyone that's interested Fanta Orange is Y264.

I'd have a chat to your local paint specialist Pacer. They should be able to give you an idea of the colour from their mix reference for the Ford.

Cheers

Hi there,

I do know the 4bbl Pacer you are inquiring about but Im not going to be much help. Most of the photos Ive seen are B&W or the colour was really faded. The colour is not factory Chrysler so there may not even be a code for it. If it is the same colour yellow as the Beechey Charger I used Tamiya Chrome Yellow(I think, the darker one) & it was pretty close. I suggest you go to www.moparmarket.com join there forums & ask there. If someone in Oz knows you will get an answer there.

So is this a model you are painting? If so what scale? I dont know of any in 1/32 or 1/24-25. Im curious.

Good luck
Thanks
Greg

Funny that the colour of the car does not match the 'Shell' sign behind it.

Shell did have a corporate colour mix, you could try checking with some of the auto paint suppliers they might still have some old Formula books around.
But as the car looks differet from the sign it may not have been a corporate colour.
Chrysler introduced some new colours in 1970 so it may have been the new Vitamin C that was used on this car.
