These are some of my methods i use for bracing on the Ninco's.
Remember each to their own on bracing, this just works for me :)

Just some plastic between the bearing holders and motor, plus the sloting plus bearing holder.

munter,
I dont brace the NSR's, but in rally class with my Abarth NSR's,the rear end's in these
cars are set up with sloting plus axle supports. These cars are little pocket rockets.

I have done some testing with bracing with NSR's,results were no quicker,no slower.
If you have a good look at the NSR cradles, where the motor sits, the plastic that runs
from the motor mount to the bearing holders is solid as.These cars have no need for bracing,
thats my opinion.

Cheers,

As someone who has pinched this one...
Cut out the existing grove on the front support so it is smooth and the axle can move to the right position.

Place your car on the board so it is resting on the guide and drop your front axle in...you now have minium clearance...

Then use a couple of ninco bearings glued to the original plastic to hold it in place (shane has his on the outside between the chassis and the tyres...others put them on the inside)

Hi Dick,
This method with the bearings is something i've just started doing on the outside.I'll
test and try anything to get that extra tenth. This stablized the front to good on certain
tracks which made the back end push the front causing the car to deslot.Dont get me
wrong, the cars were still very fast. This way of set up is just quick and easy and suited the
more flowing corners.
Normally my cars are set up with bearings on the inside.People have their own way of doing
this.My way, i place the bearing in,sit the car on a set up board, then squirt silicon under and
around the bearings and then let it set. Some of my quickest NSR are set up like this. :)

Hi shane, just wondering what you have going down the sides of the chassis and behind the motor on some of your chassis in the above pics? Also when you put your motor and rear axles in do you file the mounts so the axle and motors drop in and then have to be glued?

Peter,
Thats weight down the sides of the cars, their my interstate standard cars. When i travel
and race, their rules you can use weight in the cars.Behind the motor is Araldite, and
yes i do file the tabs so motor just drops in.

That's a good looking rear end you have there shane. LOL.

Seriously though, great thread and thank you for sharing shane :)

Your bracing method in the first pic is about as clean, simple and minimal as I have seen. The german or Swedish watch maker in me applauds the design.
