I managed to get time to unpack the cars and give them all a 5 lap test run,to check them out and also check out the May Park track.

While these times don't rally mean much as such it gave me a chance to see how the cars handled on May Park track.
Several cars have braid problems so this will be sorted before the first stage is run later this week.
This was run in the slowest direction, expect the times to drop when the direction is changed.

Well I was talking to Alan last night and said the car i sent in is such a pig I have stopped watching. (It is too embarrassing) He said you are in front of me mate and sure enough i am. Go figure. I am not normally happy about being 18th and anyone who races against me knows i can be a tad competitive but i am taking being 18th (at this stage) as a bit of a win for tippy.

Phil and I managed to run Stage one yesterday!

I did the driving and Phil managed the computer and sorted the cars.

I was surprised when I arrived at Phils! When we set up the track last week and I glued down the scenery it looked like Sweden in the winter, when I saw it yesterday it looked like this.

Looks like Phil is handy with a paint brush. :)

The track is 2.6 x1.2 12mm mdf. Road surface is a mixture of Ferrodore, paving paint and Gloss enamel! Just to add some variation!
At present it is running of Phils Trakmate and interface.

I was surprised how easy some of the cars were to drive. They made me look good.
Ones that spring to mind at this time are:
Gazza and smailnails Porsches are so forgiving no wonder they do so well. Mels Ninco was the best of the Nonco versions,BUT a little slow compared to the Flys.
FCC cars was not too bad smooth BUT just a tippy on two corners.
Devious Dave's Audi was so smooth BUT IMO a liitle under powered.
Old Slots cars would wheel stand out of one corner! B)
The heavier cars could be thrown about and bounced over the scenery with out any problems.
Phils Subaru was a surprise to me it was very suited to my track and had great grip, my Megane just could not match it,I need more grip on this track.
The Porsches and Audi's in particular bounce off the scenery a bit.

It was just great to be able to drive so many great and different cars, thanks guys!

This stage was run over 12 laps in a clockwise direction.
So here is what you guys want to see.

Very Interesting - I'm very surprised that some cars could barley make it around my track have performed reasonably well here. "Just shows to go ya"! Thanks Guys.

Looking forward to Rnds 2 & 3

The cars were run as Received for the prologue!
Before Stig arrived I cleaned and checked the braids and that made a big difference. Two of cars had almost no braids left. Fixed!
A couple of cars lacked grip on this track and that made a big difference. Not sure now BUT I know Johns Alpine struggled for grip and one other cars with Ninco tyres also had grip problem.
The Audi's look like great lumbering Taxi's on this tight track!
Ben's Celica still had some problems on one corner.
The spirit cars all seem very smooth, think with a little more tuning they could be the cars to beat in future. The Fly Porsche is certainly the car that suits this class.
Running the other direction will be different as the track flows better IMO!

Story of my proxy :o At least im consistant. Im my quest to ensure that it was easy to drive I put on a low gearing, dont think that was a great idea.

Great track you guys have there. I really really like it, especially the layout, nice work.

Boooo!!! can't wait to get the car home to club race , it was fast there!!

No surprises to see the already strong tassie contingent up the top at home.

A question please; performance of my car lacking due more to grip or motor? ~ or is the builder rally deficient? thanks,

Chris

Woo Hoo a top ten finish! Not sure how it happened but glad it did. rally cars are a mystery to me but perhaps that is the fun. Learning something new is what makes it interesting.
