When I am making wheel inserts, even a tiny batch of resin is much more than can be poured quickly enough into enough insert moulds - and I'd end up with umpteen inserts anyway.

So I am gradually building up some scenery items using up 90% or more of the resin from each batch.

Knocked these up this afternoon while I was pouring inserts for the Scaley Torry.

Nice. Should think about tyre bundles. Reckon I would buy a few dozen of them.

Like a slalom with cars.
It is very big in Germany,
they are on big carpark or wide roads,
they mark out a course with the witches hats,
and the fastest guy wins.
Was quite involved with that stuff back home.

Ah right.

They used to hold a lot of those here when my cousin, brother and brother in law raced at the local car club - I was too young.

We called them "Gym-Khana" from memory.

Gee. I remember when you used to have to steal traffic cones on your way home from the pub. Now you can buy them. Where's the skill in that, I ask you? Making your own brings back the skill factor, I guess.

If you don't have a traffic cone in the room when you wake up it wasn't a night out!

I really like the hay bale type affairs.. they are REALLY useful given my predeliction for 'old' racing cars. When you have a decent stash give me a shout mate..

What are the dimensions please?

Might look OK next to the pub... <_<

With a collection of cones for the patrons to take home with them.

They're hay bales mate. . . . like they line the main street with in Hamilton . . . . either Hamilton, ours or Embs..... LOL flaming country towns.

Or maybe they're not, maybe they ARE wooden crates.... I just thought they looked "balish" . . . . I have the old scaley flat bale thing as well - like a 4 pack, that I keep meaning t mould offf and make some.

Size as per ruler. about 22 x 15 x 13mm, that's scale to 700 x 480 x 420mm - okay, 28 x 19 x 16 inches
Probably a bit under scale, depending on your memory of baling machines, but usable I think.

Will need some colour. I haven't gotten around to figuring how I would paint them for myself even, maybe a bath of thinned acrylic in a suitable brown colour, - dunk and drain with a seive to do plenty at once. - Anyone else have bright ideas?

The road cones need to be white and red or silver and red.
Mask and hand-paint job I imagine.
The cones looked ridiculously over scale, until I stopped at a road works and stood beside some and they were up to my hip at least, which is pretty much where these stand alongside my scenic figures.

I just use the resin up whenever I'm doing wheel inserts. I haven't consciously tried to build up a stock, but I can do so. I had in the back of my mind selling them later if there was any demand. No idea of price, need to do a shimmy about some forums, see what other guys have done.
Materials cost is negligible, it's really just recovering the shagging about time LOL

Need to go away now and up my garage security, - in case Eno comes over for a beer......

Only on New Year's Eve when the Boot Scooters are let out and they take over the town. ;) At other times the sheep and roos wandering down the main street would eat them.

Have you hit that age where you start shrinking??

I'm 5'3" and the average traffic cone doesn't really doesn't go too far past knee height on me. I'd put them at around 550-600mm, sure as eggs no more than 700mm high.

OK Mark, when you decide on a price, let me know, lining the main street could work actually.
