I thought it would be interesting to see what cars everyone is planning on entering in the '10 DUPR.

I just got the car I plan to enter next year in the post this week, a Avant Slot Porsche RS Spyder. It's my first Avant Slot car and I'd have to say not my last! It's terrific, straight out of the box it just flies on my wood track. It's only a tenth off my Ninco Mosler from the 2009 DUPR (which is the fastest car on my track). I might put on some aluminium wheels and add a little weight but otherwise it is the knees of the bee! LOL!

I think I'll have to ask Santa for a few more Avant Slots, especially as we sometimes race LMPs (in my local race group) and one of the guys usually wins with a well sorted Scalex Peugeot, and I would love to beat him sometimes! LOL!

Those Avant slots are a serious bit of kit. Your mosler was a standout so if this is close you will be at the pointy end i would think. I am entering a scaleauto Gt one. Just down motoring a bit from my club spec car as if it finds a smaller track with tyres that aren't hooking up on that surface too powerful a motor becomes more of a hinderance than a help.

The Mosler really turned out great so hopefully this years car won't dissappoint!

I'd say the grid for this DUPR will be a very good looking one!

I've got a couple of Spirit Reynards, one with boxer motor, one with C can. If I can get the boxer to be an easy driver (read heavy but quick) it gets the nod.

Hi Ya's
I'm doing a Spirit Reynard 2KQ with a Plafit Pointer Motor, Slot it crown wheel and NSR wheels with MJK tyres fitted SlottingPlus Victors bearings, nothing special just a quick and simple prep.
No special tyres or additional down force.
uninteresting pic to follow.
Regards Alan

Err, think I'm now doing a Spirit Reynard 2KQ as well. Was hoping to try a Scaley Lola MG but have simply run out of time to attempt any tuning after fiddling endlessly with my NZ Proxy car and organising school holiday pursuits. I would like to do some sort of repaint but if not it will be the white X Market car fitted with what I have to hand, probably NSR boxer motor, Slot it wheels, Slot it gears and either Ortmann or NSR tyres.

One question, what is the story with race numbers, use what we want or will they be allocated and supplied?.

Thanks.

This is my first proxy, not sure how far I need to go on the packing of the car for postage
Are there any recommended ways to pack up the car for posting, for example do I just wrap it up in bubble wrap etc or should I be providing a plastic display box?
Does the packing I provide get used to ship the car around the country or are they all packed away in a single box somehow?

Do not send the cars in a plastic display box, just costs everyone more for postage.
I wrap mine in bubble wrap and but it into the smallest box I can find ! Less chance of the car moving about.

Lim has sent me cars packed in boxes smaller that display boxes and never had any damage.
Most organisers re pack the cars into a larger box for the series. some use bubble wrap (IMO The best) some use foam,BUT I find the foam is more hassle as the cars often only fit one cutout.
