Heres the very raw first pics of my entry thanks to Phil K for the body, found some Racer Ferrari rims on ebay pretty cheap.

Whats the best material to use as a filler for these resin body's? as i need to fill in the headlights..

Hopefully it will resemble this...

Dave: Auto Bog is the best. But you can also use araldite. To keep the weight down grind out the back of the lights.

I am finally getting somewhere now.

I agree will Phil on that.
For the cheetah body I have been using the white Tamiya putty but have been tempted to reach for the bog a few times...still haven't.

For small stuff the putty is fine but for deep fills I would use the bog.

Interesting side note to this model is that FLY got it wrong! The car Milt Minter drove as depicted wore the #0 at Mid-Ohio. It was raced next season by Sam Posey with #20
At Mid-Ohio #20 was a 917/10 chasis 002 driven by Jo Siffert in bright Orange STP livery, before that team folded.
Makes no real diff in the wash up, as it is a legitemate car, just wrong # :o

Great looking car Alan... :arggg:

Interesting spec, almost identical to my entry. It will be interesting to see how they perform, (or don't in the case of my car) against the cars equiped with NSR and HRS chassis.

Making progress, now have a rolling chassis, and the body is 90% done, just a bit of fit and finish to do.

For those who haven't been following the series or CanAm, this is the car raced by Denny Hulme of NZ for Sidney Taylor of Ireland (a privateeer team owner, and sometime self driver), in 1966. The following year Denny went to race for his Kiwi mate Bruce McLaren . . . . . and the rest as they say, is history.

Many folk don't know he drove this and other Lolas for some time prior to the McLaren era, so I thought this was a good way to highlight a lesser known part of his driving achievements.

I'm sure this brings back memories for Ronan, as Sidney was a gentleman, and professional boss who gave a number of drivers "seats" from which they went on to great things.

Superb job Mark, a great looking car. I have to admit I'd never heard of Sid Taylor until now! (The shame!). Overall there isn't much interest in circuit racing in Ireland (rallying and drifting of all things are big here) but good to know of another Irishman with a history in the sport (along with good old Eddie Jordan, Martin Birrane, Derek Daly and so on!).

Nearly have my George Follmer T70 ready to go, needed a bit of work but hopefully it will go nicely!

Uh Oh...you better get that putty out, I've just seen an inaccuracy!

Denny's chin and jowl are slightly undersize.

Oh no, this was taken the week he was on a diet because he hadn't won any race money for a while..... :)

AN inaccuracy? - this is actuallly a game of "spot the difference" first one to 10 wins a prize

Dave, forget about using the Slot.it body side mounts. Trim off part of the post locating lugs on the chassis where they interfere with the bodyshell so that the body will sit down squarely on the chassis. Then use the screw mounting holes at the front and rear of the chassis to mount the body using wood blocks. Works OK for me.
