I am pleased to announce that the DUPR 2010 has an official website. Here you will be able to follow the cars as they make their trip around Oz. Standings, host tracks, cars, rules, requirements and owner information will be readily available (once I finish the code for it). Right now all that is up there is the Rules & Req's along with the list of eligible cars.

You might want to change this

2.1.5 Cars to be shipped to GZMINIZ and postmarked before 13/02/09. All entries MUST be accompanied by a completed entry form.

Cheers

Was brought to my attention that the Riley MKXX and MKI was in fact a Daytona prototype not a Le Mans so the Racer Riley and Fly Riley was removed from the list of elligible cars. My apologies. Also corrected the postmark date to say 2010 not 2009

Cheers

Just wanted to clarify a few things if possible, am happy if you want to move this post and start a larger discussion.
My understanding of the cars to be run in 2010 was LMP cars from 1999 onwards. If that is the case why are Toyota Gt1's and the Panoz GTR's eligble to run as these are not LMP cars they are GT1 class cars. If they are eligible then Nissan R390's, McLaren GTR's & Porsche 911 GT1's should also be allowed to run. Discuss/comment please.

the toyota gtone is a grey area as they did run as a proto type

The Toyota GT-One (also known in Japan as the Toyota TS020 and also better known as the Toyota GT-ONE TS020) was a racing car initially developed as a racing car for grand touring style rules, but later adapted into a Le Mans prototype. It raced in the 1998 and 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Toyota ran in GTP class! The GT 1 class was dropped at the end of 1998. The Lemans Class's are hard to sort out as the rules change from year to year. The Panoz coupe ran as GT1 and the spyder as GT P.

Great info guys, however it doesnt resolve my question, the cars mentioned and no doubt others on the eligible car list are not "LMP" or Le Man Prototype class cars. If the are allowed to enter then other cars such as the Nissan R390 should also be allowed. I am seeking clarification not an ongoing debate about GTP vs GT1.

I have already picked and commenced the build of my entry, so this is not based on any personal preference, I just feel that the above mentioned do not comply in the spirit of LMP racing. I will however abide by, and indeed am seeking a ruling from the organisers.

The list was derived from the one for last years vote. I will confer, but I am not sure. I see that the audi R8C raced in both lmp and LMGTP.

In research here is what I found. The LMGTP class is a prototype class. The nissan R391 is considered a protoype but the 390 was not and was last run in 1998. In 1999 The Panoz GTR-1 indeed moved to the LMP class. It was allowed to run in LMP but only ran one race while the LMP car was being built. Looking into the 911 GT1, but the eligible list stands for now. Give me a day for the porsche 911 GT1

The eligible car list is updated to include the Fly Porsche 911 GT1 98

The ones with this body were raced by a single team in 1999 as an LMP car. The got whooped, but still raced in LMP class in 1999

I note the Scalextric Peugeot 908 HDI FAP is not on the list but the Carrera and SCX versions are there. I'm guessing this is just a typo? A friend of mine has a race tuned 908 and it is a superb car so I might consider one for 2010.

Good stuff! A slot.it R8C would be nice too. My first thought would be to put in an anglewinder pod in one with a boxer motor but on reading of the rules I believe it must use the standard pod that it came with which would be an inline set up (which is good too of course!)

Yeah. So u can switch the pod for angle as it does come standard with one version.

The rule is u can use any part of any chassis that is from an eligible car on any other chassis. So any pod that is standard can go in any car, even an scx if you are so inclined. You just can't use a replacement pod that doesn't come standard with any eligible cars. :-)
