This is just to gauge interest in each class. These are the 4 choices I am tossing around. Choose each one you would consider running in. The one with the most votes might not be the one we run, this is just to see how many people would be interested in each class.

Cheers

Errrr....
Suppose Group C is the closest. But... Ok. I officially have a pair of Le Mans cars but they're not Prototypes.

None of the options exactly float my boat. American Muscle allows for non race stock.

Is the Group C Group C sports cars from 1982 to 1993 OR is it the Group C sedans that we raced here in Australia from 1973 until 1984?

Yes I will be. Really wanted to run in the proxy and it seemed the only way that was going to happen is if I ran it :-)

The Group C class would be a Slot-it fest only. So ask yourself, do you want that? NASCAR has SCX, Scalextric and Carrera with the Scaley and SCX being very evenly matched with a large variety of car types and liveries. The LMP class also has several brands of cars with Scalextric, Ninco, Carrera, Avant, Spirit, Fly and SCX to name a few. Perhaps the biggest range of manufacturers but LMP has been done before I think. The American muscle class would pretty much be a Scalextric and Carrera class only and might be a bit tougher to right some guidelines around that won't involve some kind of loophole that people tend to look for in these types of races. Also I think all you will see is Scaley Camaro's and Mustangs with the odd Corvette thrown in by wishful punters.

For mine I think the NASCAR class would be the most even with a big variety of liveries and minimal guidelines needed to ensure close racing. The cars are very tough so they will survive a spill or two as well. The cars run well on both board and plastic tracks but I guess so do LMP and the Group C as well. The US muscle may struggle going from surface to surface.

LMP was an option for the current proxy and was voted out, adapting this years rules with minor changes would be easy.

Nascar would almost be field of SCX and Scalextric, or do we make it a one brand Proxy like the SCX Classic Proxy thats currently running overseas :bday:

Just an idea.

Just wondering why you put American Muscle in the poll & not just Muscle cars? I think you should drop the American part & have just Muscle cars. Phil has made a XY & XW Falcon as well as the Valiant Charger & that Ford Coupe he is working on. Also not to forget the Scalex Torana that is being released. I think it would be great to incorporate these Aussie cars in that class!

Greg
Thanks

Like Davenic I'm running in SCX Classic Rally Series I have to say I really like the one make series, not just for cost but also the way we have also seen considerable fluctuation in car performance on different tracks. I particularly like the series class one /two rules which allow minimal modification and standard parts only as it really does come down to the very fine art of tuning but that might not be to everyone's taste. Of the above I'll opt for LMP or muscle cars.

Would it be possible to run two series? Didn't they have a limit to the number of entries in the proxy this year? Add a second series for the ones who misswed out. Maybe a two tier system like V8 supercars, one for experienced racers and a cheaper one brand proxy for newbies. Finding enough tracks might be a problem.

i don't have the bandwidth to run 2 series but if someone else wants to run a second one I would be happy to confer with them.

IMO limmiting the field to around 20 cars is better for the hosts. Running the 27 cars is a big effort for most hosts. The podded cars was any easy run but the number of non podded cars is a long race and I think most hosts tend to spit it up into two.
